8th December 2025 at 6:56 pm #232952Rob you are a coach, would you loan out one of your players at your club when he was grieving for his friend? Would you take him out of the support group?

8th December 2025 at 6:57 pm #232954Bingo, of we can turn our memories back to TT, I said losing Trent was a massive blow to our tactical set up and you said you weren’t bothered because we are getting Frimpong who can defend much better. I argued, to no avail, that Trents role was far more involved than just defending good or bad. Remember? Now you’re saying it was a massive thing.
Can’t keep up…

8th December 2025 at 7:00 pm #232956Back to thr topic, seems Alonso is on thin ice and could even lose his job if they lose to City. Have also heard he might want a bit of a break so maybe we shouldn’t get our hopes up too high if he does get the bullet.
Still think we will get some one as interim, but probably not Gerrard as he’ll want to bring his whole team in and that doesn’t really work for a 6 month job.

8th December 2025 at 7:01 pm #232957Rob would you let market values dictate your moves, while everyone was grieving, not even defending club legends when they are obviously being put up for sale? Konate is another situation like Diaz, we should have tied him to a new contract a long time agon. Same thing with Trent, we opened up negotiation a little bit too late. The club only saved face with tying down both Van Dijk and Salah, now Salah is being sold or replaced unless a a new manager comes in. I don´t see any leadership from Arne Slot!!! It´s all down to the players.

8th December 2025 at 7:03 pm #232958threeps I was wrong about Frimpong because I was devastated about Trent leaving, no problem admitting that, I hope Frimpong can prove me wrong but he was not the right fit this season. We needed competition and only provided a half a player for that.

8th December 2025 at 7:06 pm #232959Frimpong has not played this season, neither has Bradley… We don´t have a rightback, we are relying on Szoboszlai and Jones there. That´s on management not the player´s and it´s one of the main reasons we keep conceding, more than Kerkez playing bad, or Konate playing bad or Van Dijk playing bad. We don´t have a recognized right back for the majority of the season since Trent left. It´s absurd that it happens at a club this level, it keeps happening at this club that we have no players for a certain position. No other club has to deal with this…

8th December 2025 at 8:08 pm #232968Bingo, ever asked why a player is playing bad?
There’s only Marma who I would say isnt the quality of en elite team, all the others are if played correctly and the team balance is correct. Even Frimpong who was excellant at B09 but in a role he will never play under Slot.

8th December 2025 at 9:13 pm #233002Something just dawned on me (extra in new light!!) looking currently at the Wolves United scoreline and the League tables and us!!
How on earth did we 7 – 2 lost 6??? plummet to 10th!!!
On the back of winning the league and this, this doesn’t deserve Arne Slot in charge!!!
Alonso? It’s a question of Right Place Right Time for any potential candidate!!

9th December 2025 at 7:31 am #233038@Notorius unfortunately i disagree with pretty much everything youve said there.
First up right back situation, we have in our midst the youngest captain in Northern Ireland history, who everyone was touting to replace Trent for his attacking and defending ability. We added frimpong, who unfortunately has been injured(not his fault). Thats 2 boys plus gomez to play there in worst case scenario.
Next up, im sorry i love Elliot to bits, but he is not at that level. Its not like hes pulling trees at aston villa is he? He was replaced by wirtz who personally is a better player in every department except for crossing and probably shooting. Elliot mentioned in his last game for pool that he will leave if he doesnt get enough game time… so you cant keep a player and play him cus “hes got good banter” that just sounds ridiculous!
Kelleher left for first team football, unless you thought Allison should be second choice, it was the right thing to do.
By the time jota had past away we had wirtz, frimpong, kerkez, leoni and Ekitike (near enough done). The only player we didnt sign was isak, who was the premier leagues top striker for minutes played.
We miss diaz and have not replaced him, we need another defender to replace matip. If salah stays.. thats all the incomings we need.
It seems everyone has a narrative/agenda on our current woes of the club… from manager in ibiza to not protecting his players, elliot grieving, blah blah… ive mentioned it a 100 times already this is nothing new from my experiences, when teams start losing crazy shit goes on.. everyone starts blaming everyone and doing batshit stuff ie look at salah for example.

9th December 2025 at 7:43 am #233040@rob “I know Rob is still trying to find another window where we have lost as many players from a winning team“
May not be a winning team as per say but we let firminho, milner, henderson, fabinho, keita, oxalade go in the summer of 2023.. all of which helped to win us a league title in 2020. Thats more first team players (diaz, trent, kelleher) than in 2025 summer window.

9th December 2025 at 7:51 am #233041@notoriusbingo “Frimpong has not played this season, neither has Bradley…”
What are you talking about? Bradley has played 15 games for us… played 10 premiership games of which he started 9.

Since im talking about season 2022-23.. let me ask you a question.. why did we nearly have one of the greatest seasons of all time in 2021-22 season and then ballsed it in 2022-23 season with practically the same team??

9th December 2025 at 8:46 am #233046Bradley has been half injured or recovering in half those matches, not up to speed. Anyways he is not good enough for the position and we should have prepared better for the situation.
That window you are talking about, more than half the players leaving left at the right time, we had used them up. Unlike Diaz, Nunez, Tsimikas, Elliott who could all play a role this season. Oxlade was another player riddled with injuries, Bobby had slowed down by a mile at this point.
It was also the only window Klopp got to do on his own, he knew what he wanted, there was nobody else interfering with his transfer plans and you are not mentioning the players that have been frozen out at the club. Klopp even got a friend of his to get the players he wanted that summer. It´s a completely different window with a obvious plan which by the way worked. All the midfield signings turned out to be decent players that started contributing right away. There was a clear plan, with one head ruling.

So Bradleys not good enough… yet elliot is? Same bradley everyone was jizzing in their pants to replace trent? Anyway we signed frimpong who you obviously stated was gonna be the “One”.

Thats not the question you asked? The point is we did have a window where we lost loads of first teamers… just a couple of years ago!
Tsimikas, elliot and to a lesser extent nunez are not up to Liverpool standards… bradley is ahead of them and you think hes not upto liverpool standards.. so youre argument is not coherent to your statements!

9th December 2025 at 10:08 am #233058Just read this paragraph in an article and thought it was apt…
“The version of Liverpool where Salah ran riot involved pace and counter-pressing.
Slot’s new version of Liverpool appears to want possession to pass the opposition to death. This is a striking departure from the way the Reds played for much of the past decade.
To be clear, the freewheeling style Liverpool played benefited from the additional control Slot imposed last year, but this current version keeps supporters awake at night.
For Salah, this new system fails to leverage his exceptional qualities. He doesn’t have space to run, he can’t get off shots as easily and since there’s no service going to him.
The best coaches look at the talent they have and fashion a system that maximises the talent. Slot took the talent on hand, added a slight wrinkle or two and won the Premier League at a canter.
This season, he attempted to impose a new, rigid system on a team lacking the parts to make the system work.”

9th December 2025 at 11:14 am #233062Ginger its what you and I have been saying for a while now but some still don’t get it, to them it’s underperforming players or simply bad luck. I am flabbergasted that so many cannot see the tactical shortcomings Slots new system incures and how he is strangling the quality of most if not all our players.
I think this pass the opposition to death is boring and it doesn’t tap into the anfield energy the way heavy metal football did.
