Sean, if big teams only appointed ‘big name’ managers then eventually no one would appoint anyone.
To me the driving points should be a successful tactical approach, and by that is it obvious what they are doing and it will suit our club. And do they have the personality that’s suitable?
I’d have no issues at all appointing someone like Iraola despite coming from a smaller team.
It’s not like liverpool have huge ego characters that need to be carefully managed by an even bigger ego.

Sean I hear you, and I often make the point myself about the perils of managers leaving smaller clubs to bigger ones only to struggle due to the higher expectations and egos. However, I do think we are more of a tribal & community club in that regard compared to the more corporate bigger clubs if you like. I think Frank is struggling at Spurs partly down to a philosophy mismatch. Think Iraola should be more of a better fit and he also strikes me as being quite charismatic which is also important when moving to a bigger club. Am I right in saying that he’s only contracted until 2026 so presumably the buy out shouldn’t hopefully be too big? Or do we wait for Alonso, assuming Madrid get rid?

I get that threeps and it’s obvious he’s biding his time until Deschamps leaves.
As for tactics, he’s the only manager in history to win three CL leagues on the bounce. He must have got his tactics right there (regardless of personnel).

Iarola has done really well same as zebri . I remember people calling for zebri.
It very very rarely works out. Theres no one big enough to come in.

As you said yourself Sean, Slot is arrogant, little chance he plays players he doesn’t believe will carry out whatever game plan he has in his head.

Well de Zebri I think is manager of Marseille and doing pretty well so far in the league so he’s doing alright.
We had this conversation last season and Slot won us the league coming from a relative small club. OK he’s lost thr plot this season but that’s another thing.

So it does look like, Slots got the next 3 games to save his job. I really do hope he makes some changes. Drop Konate, kerkez, gakpo and salah. Don’t care who replaces them.
The mind boggles why he has persisted with the same players who are not performing. If he wants to play a certain way, use the squad more.
Regarding the potential next manager. De zerbi is not a bad shout. I think we need a manager who is not scared to show some passion. Someone similar to Klopp as it suits the club and fans, than the passive Slot.

That’s the headscratcher of this season red-warrior. Apart from playing 4-4-2 for a European match, it’s pretty much been same old same old.
He needs to be bold and drop players and select from the squad he has and show to us there’s purposeful change made to try and turn things around.

Our biggest problem for month’s and months now is conceding goals.
Its just really astounds me how managers like slot, ten hagg, ang, amiron are so stubborn about their systems and tactics when they are not working. Its plan b or nothing and its just stupid. Its gets them the sack,
Their egos make them stick with this bullshit of football that the normal man on the street can see multiple holes in. Just maddness.
It just baffles me that they petsist with it when it just produces the same resukts time and time again. Mind boggling
