As the form team in world football we should win.

2nd March 2026 at 9:51 am #240500This will be a big game, despite Newcastle’s form, St. James’ Park is not an easy place to go. I’d be very happy with a draw.

2nd March 2026 at 10:00 am #240501Yep, take a draw no problem, especially as either Villa or Chelsea (hopefully both) will drop points the same night.

2nd March 2026 at 11:13 am #240506Itβs going to be a very physical game. We currently have no left back and only 2fit Right backs.
I am more worried about the resurgent Scousers than Chelsea or villa.

2nd March 2026 at 11:56 am #240514It might be a game for, dare I say it, Zirkzee? He’s a big unit and shouldn’t have much trouble putting himself about against Newcastle’s back line. Maybe a 4-4-2 with Sesko and Zirkzee up front, keep Mainoo and Casemiro in the centre and have Bruno and one of Mbuemo or Cunha on the wings?

2nd March 2026 at 12:07 pm #240516Killy i wouldnβt be opposed to that if we had a mobile pair of CM in d middle because having Bruno as a No.10 you often see him tracking back and even out running both Mainoo nd Casemiro to put in a last ditch tackle.. and we all know Newcastle players are really good runners π€£π€£

2nd March 2026 at 7:11 pm #240531Yeah, agree with the general consensus here. Newcastle will definitely be up for this game. Take a draw right away

2nd March 2026 at 9:34 pm #240534Think we need to try and dig 4 points out of the next 2 games to keep the momentum going. Would take a point as St James has been a bit of a graveyard for us in recent years. Saying that, the good performances under Carrick have come when the opposition has to take the game to us, so you never know but can see it being a struggle.

2nd March 2026 at 11:26 pm #240539no bruno G, no livramento, no isak. I wouldn’t take a draw here, although recent performances haven’t been good at all. I think they’ll be an open team and that will allow us the opportunity to play. if we are up for it it’s there for the taking. not that I believe given what I’ve been watching lately.

2nd March 2026 at 11:28 pm #240540killy. I’d rather have Zirkzee for this game too and leave one of mbeumo, cunha, or amad out. or we could just leave mainoo out as he won’t be missed.

3rd March 2026 at 5:19 am #240541If Everton can win there we shouldn’t go for a draw, they went there and bagged 3 goals.

3rd March 2026 at 6:21 am #240542The key is to play a proper counter attacking game. Not sure who I’d drop from the front line but I’d get Amad back in there. Casemiro and Mainoo sitting firmly in front of the defence and just playing it long for the forward line to counter with FernΓ‘ndes supporting.

3rd March 2026 at 7:38 am #240544This is a game where I actually would start Sesko on the bench and keep plenty of movement and mobility up front with Cunha, Amad and Mbeumo. Would definitely settle for a point, itβs not a good ground for us. Is Joelinton fit? Heβs the key player for them.

3rd March 2026 at 7:50 am #240545Much will depend on who’s fit to play in our defence tomorrow because if both Maguire and Shaw are out that will probably mean Dalot at LB and a CB partnership of Yoro and Heaven, which is enough to give anyone fucking nightmares.
The fact that Maguire is now struggling to complete 90 minutes even once a week should be a wake up call to anyone who thinks we should just throw another two year contract at the guy at 33 years of age. He’s only averaged about 25 PL starts per season throughout his 6 years at the club anyway, and if we are going to keep those other two massive crocks De Ligt and Martinez I don’t see how we can possibly keep Maguire as well, simple as that._____________________________

3rd March 2026 at 8:00 am #240546Joelinton is always amazing against us but Tonali is their key player at the moment, very talented lad and i think we’ll struggle to contain him. Just gotta hope that we can do the business the other end and bag a couple of goals. Apparently Maguire and Shaw were both ill before the game so hopefully they are both fit to start. At least Maguire. Thought Mazraoui actually did a good job when he replaced Shaw so i’d stick with him otherwise.

3rd March 2026 at 8:13 am #240549The key to getting a draw or 3points is the battle in the middle, if we get wave after wave of Newcastle attack then we will most likely concede goals β¦ Gordon plays as the No.9 for Newcastle now with Woltemade playing deeper as No.10
Contrary to others i still would start Sesko up top or give a rare Start to Zirkzee because Mbeumo at No.9 wonβt work against Newcastle.

3rd March 2026 at 10:38 am #240551Their most important player is Guimares, he is the link between defense and attack. Him and Tonali in midfield, plus Gordon on the wing!

3rd March 2026 at 10:51 am #240553If Harry is avaiable i would sit back and wait for the counter. If Heaven and Yoro starts we cant sit back and inviting Linton&Co to outjump us in our box. Cant see us winning this, looks like a real beating waits for us.

4th March 2026 at 11:40 am #240668Squad I think could work for tonight’s game based on who we know is available:
Lammens
Dalot/Mazraoui Heaven (Maguire if he’s fit) Yoro Mazraoui/Dalot
Bruno Casemiro Mainoo Mbuemo/Amad
Zirkzee SeskoSquad that will probably start:
Lammens
Dalot/Mazraoui Maguire/Heaven Yoro Mazraoui/Dalot
Casemiro Mainoo
Amad Bruno Cunha
MbuemoWith Livramento and Schar out we should be getting a left winger who will stay on the wing and pressure whoever is in for Livramento. Guimaraes and Miley are out too so that will weaken their midfield even though Joelinton and Tonali will play.
