I must be getting old… I’m really not understanding football anymore, and I’m certainly not understanding the hype around the game… don’t even understand how very, very, very average players can be transfer for 50/60/70 million pounds now… don’t understand the FFP rules at all..

I do not understand the hype with Gykores at all, the lad is 27, played 8 seasons at powerhouses such as Brighton, St Pauli, Swansea, Coventry before suddenly having 2 decent seasons in the Portuguse league and suddenly he’s the bees kness??? I don’t get it…

Same for the lad at Pool, 70 odd million for a player who throughout his careeer so far has scored less goals than Haaland did last season… but he’s now a 70 million pound player?

MGW… 60 million wasn’t enough… I must be one of the few Spuds who really aren’t that upset about that… it’s just all getting crazy…

Kylie -Ita crazy indeed. It just means that there is too much money but not enough good players. So they end up paying too much for average players.Or,money laundering on a global scale.

We paid 8.5 million for Stan in 1995, 30 years ago and broke the then British Transfer record. We then go and spend 10 million in 2002 on one of the most spiteful of ‘professionals’ and dud in El-Hadji-Diouf.

Something did go wrong for us somewhere on the latter.

If you thought Liverpool was having a good window, have a look at Charlton’s!

Charlton… always had a soft spot for them… used to work nearby and often got dragged down to a “mid-week” game after work during late eighties, early nineties… don’t remember much, 3 hrs in the pub before kick-off saw to that! 🙂

But, for me, it isn’t just the transfers or even the money (both are obscene), now footballers are treated like mega-super stars, people you could even relate too on some level but now? Look at the buzz around the current “super-stars” of todays game… do you even hear stories about players catching a lift to the ground, or hoping on the bus? There aren’t even any characters in today’s game any more…

Just read somewhere the 115 have offered 149 million to buy back Cole Palmer… I just can’t figure out how many levels of stupid/shameful/disgusting this is…

Kylie -Compared to the Saudis offering £350m for Vicinius, that’s almost nothing.

Chelsea were approached by City but it was thrown out completely. They want at least 250m for Palmer thats even given the fact they are highly unlikely to accept any offer despite the mention of an amount. Imagine the outcry if they did accept an offer.

COPIED TEXT: IF reports coming out of Spain are accurate. As reported by Fichajes, Chelsea have said “no” to an offer of more than €170 million for Palmer, from Manchester City. The Blues would only be willing to negotiate if the figure reaches more than £250 million.

You forgot to mention that Liverpool paid £116m for Wirtz. He better turn out to be the next Debruyne otherwise, thats a serious amount of money wasted.

250 million for Cole Palmer?? But then again, we talking about two former clubs who are now playthings for bad people now… as for Wirtz… my prediction will be about 7 games in you’ll have all the Micky Mousers screaming “he didn’t set the price tag”…
