    Going to hang up his boots at the end of the season at the age of 36. Brilliant player on his day, yet not fully appreciated imo. A calming influence on and off the pitch.

    i used to love watching carrick. one of the very few players i was proper gutted when he left spurs. hes definitely very underappreciated but at the same time i think hes one of those players that when they play for your team, you recognise what he does and how good he is at it.

    He certainly was Paxton. A marmite type of footballer. I believe him and Scholes were just ahead of their time when it came to their attributes to English football.
