What an existence we now live in that we learn a footballer’s identity removed from a computer game. That’s all it was known to me when I was growing up. Now more than ever it’s globally perceived as a brand with the visual emphasis and attached as a sponsor.

They wouldn’t want this tarnished. Perhaps in the same breath, they are sending out a clear message of their values and what they will condemn.

New evidence? Key witness withdrawal? I’d heard a while ago rumours that he was back with the girl. I have not changed my stance on this. I do not want Greenwood to ever play for the club again. I’m really pleased with how Utd have acted so far in this case despite how highly I rated Greenwood as a player. It’s a tough one. Do you try to sell him or do you drop him from his contract and turn down millions in the process? Or do you do what some clubs have done and just sweep it under the carpet?

Ed, If he was chelsea player I would agree with you and not want him playing for us again.

However, I would sell, or loan with a view to future sale if possible. Utd made him, if a club wants to give him a chance utd are due compensation imo.

Perfectly summed up CM, 600% I was thinking about this earlier; people be it Sportspersons or in Showbiz I’ve been in awe of never have been accused of (A) Murder and (B) Rape. I know there is rehabilitation and second chances, but for me on this, no room.

Naturally, Footballers are in a bubble of their own and money talks (sadly in certain facets).
