You see that’s the thing hightown, stevo and others call us sensitive when we are replying to people who are throwing out silly remarks about our club.
It’s us reacting to other people’s comments.
Of course we are going to defend the club when people are making comments that are having a go

True, Sean. But to be fair to Pagan, it’s an argument I’ve heard many times before, and there is a certain validity to it’s logic. Having said that, there is no other measure or achievement to become Champions of Europe, so I’ll take it, and everyone else can suck it up for the year (maybe more?) that we are Champions of Europe

Not sure why you’re taking it so personally, the last English club to have the right to call themselves Champions of Europe was Manchester United, it certainly wasn’t Chelsea, we had a terrible domestic season when we won the CL, I’m quite happy to admit we’ve never been Champions of Europe….Pagan

Now, your European Cup winning teams of 77 and 84, were truly Champions of Europe, qualified as Champions, retained the league title and won the European Cup, I think that makes them the only English team to have done that…..Pagan

Who’s taking it personally? Not me. It’s a well worn argument, and as I said above it does have some validity but until it goes back to being a tournament just for domestic champions, the winners will always be called the Champions of Europe, and I can live with that

9, you know as well as I do, it’s down to money, any talented Scottish player migrates south, they get more money, and for some bizarre reason they go down as a home grown player….Pagan

That’s the way it used to be Pagan but there are very few top players in the PL now from Scotland I can only think of Mcginn and Robertson plus McTominay who was born in England anyway.
Anyway the comparison was between winning the PL and the CL how the SPL even got included only Mav knows.?

Nine, I have to say that i find it interesting that you pointed towards Robertson as being world class. I say so because as someone who watches him every week, I know that he definitely is. Do you remember me getting worked up about him before? We had some discussions about him but you’ve clearly seen enough now and hats off to you for it cause you could have named other players instead, like trent, who is defensively… nowhere near Robertson.
Robertson for me is an extremely intelligent defender, who also has the supplementary skills that Klopp either wanted or made best use of. Trent then is the best player at the club, on a technical level. I saw Gerrard in him from an early age and I only see more and more of his setting up and striking of the ball in him. Defensively though, he’s just not a natural fullback. I don;t want to be unkind to him, he’s improved markedly, defensively. We are talking about comparing him to a world class defender though.
If I were going to name my favourite Liverpool player, I think it would be Robertson. Ah the answer to that question might change from time to time because as you said Nine, we have a few who are on a very high level (let’s ignore the labels for now, I guess).
I took Robertson out of my FPL team last week and I tell you, I hated doing it. I only have Trent int here because we can;t keep a cleansheet and he takes a lot of our set pieces. Trent is known for being the best creator in our side and in many ways that’s definitely the case but on the break, Robertson is far more dangerous.
anyway im going on with some awful shite here, I started off wanting to take note of you labeling Robertson. You’ve got a keen eye. The media tend to focus more on other players but yer dead right here.

Absolutely. I remember when Celtic were kinda half good but the 90’s are a long time ago now. Can you imagine Norwich in the SPL? they’d obliterate that league. Sheffield Utd? They would walk it, absolutely no problem.
