We are just getting the big tractor out & clearing a nice smooth path for chelski to get top 4. Playing 2 relegated teams in the last few games gave some a lot of confidence we were favourites to play C/L again but I was never confident, you just know the capitulation is around the corner.
I hoped it wouldn’t come down to the chelski game away for a top 4 finish but that’s what’s happened. Winning the C/L could well be our only way into that comp again next season & with our squad dropping like flies that’s becoming more & more unlikely._____________________________

Oz, it’s certainly not a ruled out possibility for Chelsea. If they lose or held at Swansea, that would pretty much be game over for them, but should they win, then it definitely opens the door, which means it’s a ‘six-pointer’ for them when they play us.
At that point, we’d be playing our strong team, because one way or another, CL would be sorted out. The final doesn’t take place till the 27th, so we can consolidate 4th for sure.
Klopp’s next challenge is thickening up the squad to be able to deal with more than one competition.
We’re just missing some of those types of individuals that can change the game for us when it’s flat and when we’re playing against teams scrapping for points themselves.

Awful and no excuse really. I guess maybe the lads are a bit mentally drained after the Roma game. Hopefully they’ll be fine for the return leg though.
I mean, no way we should rely on a CL win to get back into it next season but it’s at least a possible safety net. A realistic one that is.

Yeah Nil, injuries are killing us just when we didn’t want them (not that u do any time). Squad depth is certainly needed in the summer window, I just hope we have C/L footy to offer or we will struggle to get the players we need to progress.

Spot on Mak, you could tell from early on the players were flat. Hopefully they will pick it up & get us through mid week & we have another final to look forward to & that will give us a bit of spark to finish the EPL season on a high note with the C/L to look forward to again.

Oz @ 2:24, you’re 100% right.
I back-tracked our fixtures, and away from home, although we did well at Palace to get all 3 points, we’ve dropped them at Everton, West Brom, and yesterday.
In fairness, the teams behind us are piling the pressure, and attainment is raised high with expectations rising to try and win EVERY game.
By fact, we currently sit 3, and I’m sure Chelsea would rather be swapped places with us.
Plus, our journey in the CL involved, Porto, Man City and most recently Roma.
Considering Klopp in fairness to him, is still in the rebuilding process, I feel we have exceeded beyond our expectations. We just need to start registering some Silverware and wit Kieta already on his way in the summer, 2 or 3 big signings could really take us to the next level.
