As well as a lack of leaders, we also lack winners. Why we didn’t look at resolving this over summer I don’t know. Meanwhile Man City putting six past Watford. And before people say Liverpool can’t afford such players, we were prepared to throw £140 mill at two players over summer so that doesn’t wash anymore. It seems Klopp only wants hungry players…we saw what happened when Houllier opted for the more hungry Diouf ahead of Anelka.

So how’d the mighty Watford go playing c$ty? Now we play another home draw which some sounded like they’d take before the game. Oh they’ve taken points from chel$ki & spurs is the reference point. Well Watford took points from us yet c$ty managed to annihilate them.
Look reality is we are a 1 trick pony that teams have figured out & we don’t have a plan b. We have an embarrassing D, no defensive mid to help them & no 20+ striker yet people think we will be ok. Add to that no leaders or spine. We have not improved from last season & now we have more games to play.
I said our main competitors this season are chel$ki & spurs but they will both finish ahead of us. We will get 5th at best the way we are going.

Oz yob, in full agreement there regarding the need for a Striker. I don’t know how Firmino is persisted with when I’ve felt he’s more of a player behind an actual striker even though he has known to get himself in the box.

The obvious of the defence just speaks for itself. We’ve lived through these scenarios so many times, you just eventually have to suck it up and take it on the chin as best as possible.

If our attack is as good as some are saying why are we struggling to score goals. I’ll tell you why, we don’t have a 20+ striker. For all our good looking build up work & knocking the ball around we cant’ finish, or we need 20 good chances before we bury 1. Saying we dominated & should’ve or could’ve scored is like saying we dominated possession so should’ve won or deserved to win. It doesn’t mean jack all if you look flashy or dominate possession, it’s how many goals you can score & not concede. We struggle to score as teams have us figured out. It’s gong to be awesome hearing Klopp saying how well we played throughout the season whilst we slide down the ladder.
Any team would fancy their chances of scoring against us, our D is embarrassing & that’s being generous. All teams have to do is sit back & frustrate us & break with speed. Our CB’s will be exposed like a giant set of dogs plums & we inevitably concede.
Klopp saying there was no one better than what we have at the back is just A grade BS. I’m a better defender than Klavan & wouldn’t be far off Moreno either.
The problem is we are not getting any better & Klopp doesn’t have a plan b for when all the flashy football doesn’t produce goals.
LFC will not bother the top 4 positions this season so it’ll be a step back yet again.

Oz Yob, @ 5:15, that is true. Our tactics or pressing is designed to counteract the problem of the ball/possession avoided from defensive playing areas.

In reality, only a team like Barcelona can sustain that style of play, but it proves too within their own fold, you still have to install top quality defenders.

If anything, the pressing wears the players out and as a result, there’s every chance of an injury/cramp. The game needs to be controlled at a sensible pace and players all over the park must be comfortable with possession, not only that, vary the overall style of play and be able to adapt against different teams and their tactics.
