Gini looks set for PSG. Good luck to the Guy.

The rumour of Tielemans at ridicilous fee.

Mane has been 5 years with us. We need to be looking now at a rebuild and hope for more new signings.

Difficult to understand what happened with Wijnaldum but buying a replacement for him will take funds away from other areas of the team that might have needed strengthening.

“Wijnaldum has promised to reveal all after Euro 2020 concludes. Additionally, he hinted that the decision over his exit was likely a business one made by the club’s hierarchy.”

I totally agree nine mate. Winjildium was a proper cog in our midfield . Never injured. He was a proper leader . Covered every blade of grass, kept everything simple, recycled the ball over and over again an absolutely ran his nuts off for the team. I’m gutted he’s gone

Going to cost 30/40m to replace him and he had to be replaced as ox, keita, Hendo , thisgo and fabhino all miss chunks of every season

Hightown mate…. What do you think of rags going to Everton? How do think the city and match going fans will react to that mate?

It’s a surprising one that isn’t it Sean? But then there is such a shortage of managers that it’s almost inevitable they have to start considering such appointments. I remember when Rafa took the Chelsea job and almost to appease the tribal elements unhappy about the decision, I think Rafa remarked at the time that he was “just a professional doing a job”… which sounds something like a hitman would say 😂 But to clubs, sometimes needs must in these situations.

Completely forgot about this till I got to work, and printed them off hahaha 😀

It put a smile on my face from first impressions and singing to my work colleague “We’re Gonna Win The League” lol 😀

Once I got into the ‘nitty gritty’, I was “uh oh”, “some toughies here”.

Don’t know why we keep getting Leicester around Xmas time. We need to rebuild and make Anfield a Fortress. Won’t be Easy, but new Top Player Signings will be a Huge Plus.

                      FSG Policy (what seems to me), the bit that we as Supporters don’t particularly like;

Apparently, it was good virtually from all quarters for Gini with a new contract, albeit the length of it and that was purely down to him being on the ‘wrong side’ of 30. There’s no value afterwards.

                      It’s Moneyball.

Yeh it’s a good point Nil about moneyball and Wijnaldum. Because of our recent successes and some bigger spending (though mostly from player sales) we seem to have forgotten that moneyball still seems to be a big part of the transfer strategy. People may point to Milner signing a new contract back in 2019 despite being in his 30s, but perhaps the club doesn’t want too many older players in the squad I don’t know. But surely better to wait until any new younger player forces the established older player out rather than throwing the established player out first. Unless there’s another reason but given Wijnaldum played a lot of games still presumably Klopp was happy with him.

Pleased with the business on Harry Wilson. Good consistent drive as always from FSG.

I’m led to believe we cashed in on two other players and I believe we’ve made around 30-35 million.

Pre-season going positive so far. New season not too far away now. We just need to be ready and injury free.

Allowing a good length of time to pass and giving yourself that moment to reflect on last season, I still can’t believe we pulled ourselves together and finished 3rd. We really gave everything we got towards the end and I just keep picturing that moment with Alisson that was effectively the catalyst to our mental strength.

Pretty emotional to a degree. A large degree with everything that’s gone on with Covid-19.

It’s very easy to get sucked into what others are doing from a transfer activity point of view, but I feel for us, rehabilitation that’s coming to an end with players coming back. Lots to choose from and ready to go.

What would our best 11 be on the pitch?

Measures clearly are in place. I am slightly in question of going fully Contactless.

There are mature to elderly citizens who don’t have contactless and feel more practically at ease to use cash.

Nil, we have looked very sharp in pre-season . Keita looking very good but it’s only a matter of time before he gets injured. Injuries are the worry.

Gomez and matip won’t last long so I wouldn’t sell Philips. Midfield is a worry as we have so many injury prone players. If everyone can stay fit then we can have a good season.

Don’t think we are signing anyone now to be honest. 169m spent since klopp came and we have won major trophies. It’s remarkable and he is the absolute key to our success.

He lost the plot a bit last season. Some bizarre decisions but he pulled it together and 8 wins and 2 draws from last ten games was excellent

I thought we would finish outside the top 6 so 3rd was a great return considering all the injuries etc

Sean, to be fair Liverpool winning the CL and the PL was underwritten by the circa £200m spend on Alison, VVD and Fabinho which I know was all but funded by the Coutinho sale.

What Liverpool could do with now is another couple of Coutinho type deals difficult to see where they might come from currently though.😊

Ye nine but people were giving us stick for selling our best player nand people thought we were mad paying that for vvd. So at the time we sold our best player and used the money well. 169m net on 5 years is remarkable to be up there. Absolutely those players turned our fortunes but we had to sell our best player to progress

He has coached the team brilliantly, playing some unreal football to watch as a fan.30m players turned into world class stars. Salah and mane had talent but he’s turned them into world class players.

It’s not an equal playing ground. City pay much more then Liverpool. They can spend what they want. Chelsea did it for years. It’s makes our success more special. We have done it the right way.

We bought players from Newcastle, hull, Southampton and klopp turned them into stars. He’s brought young players through. He’s turned average players into top class players. I’m not sure many managers could do what klopp done for us. We were 10th when he took over .

He’s brought the whole club together. Anfield has never been as atmospheric or vocal in years. Everyone pulls together. He got the city from day one. He got the fans from day one and he’s absolutely adored by us. Best thing that had happened to us in decades. He’s spent money by Edwards doing an unreal job of selling average players like brewster for 23m. Ibe 15m, solanke 19m. That’s a few examples.

He’s done a remarkable job. He turns average teans into top teams. Let’s give credit Werner it’s due. He’s spent money but we cannot spend like other clubs.

I believe this is the first time we’ll be able to select a first 11 without players out on injuries.

Definitely some weight of excitement, plus the fans being allowed back in the stadiums mate.

                                          Cheers

Not sure couthino type sell would do much nine as I’m not sure our 1st 11 when everyone is fit can be really improved

Maybe another midfielder as well get to many injuries but the following team could do well. Problem is we will get injuriesz be difficult to challenge but hopefully we have better luck then last season
