Cheers for that Threeps, no major surprises there I just hope Thiago only needs to heal a bit of bruising. Its a shame to not be able to watch him again tonight though.

Ya, give Minamino his chance I say. The more I think of it, the more I wanna see and also expect to see also. I can see Jota starting too.

I assume Rhy Williams is the one more likely to get some time, as we re meant to be selling Philips in the summer, right?

We’ve mentioned the point about fans but in terms of Europe, away from home this could work to our advantage. We know in the past that going some places, the home crowd can be vocal and intimidating.

Hope we get a Result Tonight. We need a Win

Nil, I don’t think this Liverpool side get intimidated that easy TBH, so I’d much prefer to have a crowd in pretty much every scenario. It isn’t to be though, so I don’t think about it. I’m just glad that we have football. obviously Im still reeling over van Dijk being injured but Thiago not being out for long and Alisson coming back soon does make me feel better.

BTW i do really like to see our rivals coming out and speaking well of Van Dijk at this time. Lampard did the same, the guy is just class. Look, he lost his shit versus us once but losing your temper has nothing to do with how classy a person you are, it’s how you generally carry yourself and respond to such events that matters to me. there are plenty of people out there who never have an outburst but who i wouldn’t trust in a fit but enough about that.

I’m really looking forward to the match tonight. Im hoping to see changes up top, now isnt that a weird thing to say? … but we have options now.

When it comes to Firmino, I was one of the first to bang on about the work he does for us, besides goals etc. I totally appreciate this but even though his main input isnt goal related, it’s still a major part of his game and he’s really gone off the boil in that regard. He’s got to improve or I assure you, Klopp will replace him with someone who he can train to get what he needs off the ball but also score goals…. So if I were Firmino, I’d use the absolute terror that I’m about to be replaced in the side to work my way back into being one of the first names on the sheet.

Thankfully we now have Minamino and Jota to put pressure on the lads up there. They were too damn comfortable. well those days are gone. i hope to see thme both tonight.

                Fair points Mak.

I’m happy for players outside the regular 11 to be given a chance to step up and establish themselves.

It can be a little bit dauting for one or two at first, but as long as they are putting in the application and adding value overall to the team, then it’s a thumbs up.

Hope we do well this Evening and get a Positive Result 🙂

There’s optimism and then there is suggesting that we could improve due to the lack of Van Dijk. Fabinho is actually a top CB, no doubts on that already but we will miss Van Dijk, bitterly. Even if we’re lucky enough to be saying that Fabinho has covered well and the other CB position has few issues, we’ll still not have Fabinho in midfield and this is what brought City to their knees. It wasn’t just that they lost a top CB, it’s that they also lost a top DM to fill the gap… really you’re just pushing that gap further up the field.

SO when Klopp got irritated at Carra for suggesting that he made a mistake by not signing a CB in the summer, I just think Carra is dead right and Klopp is not infallible.

I totally agree Mak. There is a sense of optimism. These last few days have been a great deal better with the dust settling and Liverpool not dwelling and doing the best we can.

24 or so hours and I’m really happy looking back in not only winning away from home, but also keeping a clean sheet and Fabinho being able to step up.

There will be times when we will face difficulties. I’m hoping some business can be done in January to help us.

Hopefully, Allison will soon be back with us and we can try and reform that solidarity at the back. We need to start picking up league wins and I hope that that takes place from this weekend.

                      Cheers

Ya Nil, I mean if you had asked me right after the Everton game about positives, I’d have had a four letter response. I don’t remember being more annoyed about a match, perhaps the CL final against Real.

As the dust has settled though there are many little things to offer hope or even excitement. Alisson is back soon-ish and Klopp has refused to rule out Thiago but I kinda get the feeling that he would have said he’s able to play if he really were but the fact that he’s close, gives me something to be excited about. If I were to focus on one thing, it’d be him coming back, so I can get to know him better. There is a sense of “this is the future” about him, if you understand me. I’m a massive fan of Gini’s as you and the other know but he’s clearly going to leave on a free transfer and I will admit one thing, even though I kinda don’t want to. Thiago is an upgrade on Gini.

He does what he does but better. There was a moment in the Everton game where 3 blue shirts converged on him and he came away with the ball regardless. Gini is exceptional at that too. Pulling players towards him,. creating space and passing the ball off to a teammate who then exploits that, moves it forward. The thing that separates them is that Thiago’s passing range/vision are on another level.

Of course, I would still hope that Wijnaldum stays, they can be in the same team. That would be my preference actually, although I do rate Hendo and believe it or not, I do have moments where he’s not available and I missed his presence. HH will be choking on his dinner when he reads this but I never hate Hendo, I really only disliked the really over the top lauding. Those 4 lads that we have though, especially with Fabs kinda making it 3 by the looks of things by going back into CB, that’s a damn fine midfield. Of course there is then Milner but he’s dropped out of contention for a starting place. Don’t like saying that either as he’s a legend but it seems to be the case. Amazing squad player though.

Anyway I realise that I went off on a tangent there but I’m gonna leave it in.

So, who would I want to be fully fit tomorrow Alisson or Thiago? That’s a tough one. Smart money goes on Alisson because our defence needs a pick me up, or does it? Gomez played well the other night and Fabs is a top CB, I know this already. So, I am actually going to say Thiago. Alisson is the security that we need and Thiago is the new exciting signing, who makes our build up play 2 times better.

Anyway sorry if this is a load of boring rubbish but I cant wait for both of these lads to come back. I can suffer through losing Van Dijk if these lads come back and make the positive impact that we know they can. Losing a Laporte cost City a title challenge but I am starting to think that unless we get other injuries back there that we won’t suffer the same fate.

Mak, Hope You’re Good and Well.

I struggled on the course of events last week. The physical pain taken I rarely see now in our game as football has changed. Everton don’t! They seem to want to damage our best players as cynical and conspiracy as this sounds (nonsense maybe in some people’s eyes).

Those type of games are always going to be tough, but we came through on top albeit a decision unfortunately going against us.

Yeah, I do agree, it’s about now finding a fit and a formula that’s going to work for us in the long term. Van Dijk I’m sure must feel soul destroyed in being out.

But I believe we can be Solid and find a way through.

Mak, we’re on the Box Office, Yikes! I declare the prospect already of no Stream 🙂

Ah was that the Box office there ? The Sheffield game? I didnt even know, I streamed it.

Glad for the win but I found the game to be really boring in the end. The win is all that mattered and of course no more injuries. Was nice to see Jota get a goal though, it will help him settle in. How is he as a player though? I don’t think he’ll ever be as good as Salah or Mane but he fits this side a lot more than Origi, so him being in the starting line-up doesnt make me sigh and I dont think it will ever.

I hope Thiago is gonna be back for our next match, he’s the player we’ve been missing and I can’t wait to see how good we’ll be when he is settled in.

Mak, jota is like mane when he came and look at mane now. Mane was inconsistent with a poor 1st touch. Klopp nurtured him into a world class player

Jota has been very good since he came and will only get better under klopp

Totally agree. Dying to see Thiago regularly in the side.

Also I think we are going to keep conceding goals so we just need to keep scoring

Yday was a big win as sheff Utd should have been two up at half time. We dug in and stayed in the game

Different formation etc. Much better from Gomez aswell and great to have alisin bsck

I only noticed premier sports had the game last night so I didn’t have to pay for the game

They have a few games that are box office on their channel in Ireland so games are free well they are part of bt package

Not the greatest performance but I’ll take the 3 points. But for me the main talking point ONCE AGAIN is bloody VAR. I’m absolutely baffled as to why this vehicle is being used to ruin the game. However, I’m fed up of it, so I’ll leave it there – at least until next week!

VVD, Thiago, Matip, Ox, Keita, Tsimitas all out injured – Liverpool lucky with injuries? Yeah, right!

Thought Gomez had a far better game last night which is encouraging, as he is going to have to step up in VVD’s absence. Mind you, he’ll have tougher games against better forwards than he faced last night. Gini seems to have not got above 80% so far this season, but I guess with Fab likely to be playing centre back for the foreseeable, his place is fairly certain in midfield, even with Thiago coming in.

Things aren’t quite going for us in our aspects, but we’re grinding out the results and the spirits remain high.

VAR is definitely out to get us. What’s disgusting is that the Ref blatantly saw that himself. It’s like watching a shoplifter steal a bag of sweets from the corner shop and turning a blind eye.

Needs an External Body to be evaluating this. It’s people not the tech, but it’s making me think that we should go back to how it used to be.

Got a big big struggle coming our way and we now have to pray Matip recovers if he’s injured. We need somebody tall in there and Fabinho’s now out.

My other temporary solution is Robertson, then Milner or somebody else playing full-back.
