Not that home or away means anything ATM but ya, they have some good players. That Lampty guy is one for the future. Trossard would do better if he played for a quality side.

8th July 2020 at 10:30 pm #126439Enjoyed that lads. Jumped up for every goal. Just want us to finish strongly. If we can’t get 100 points then beat 97 from last season
Would love mo to get over 20 goals and also the golden boot

9th July 2020 at 1:02 pm #126447Sean, that really did feel good overall to even though Brighton pulled a goal back. We got over the 90 points barrier.
Since Lockdown, we were obviously made for a long time to see us on 82. We’ve dropped 4 points since the restart but won 3 games out of the 5 we’ve played. We’ve been professional even though the Title has been won and it was nice to see Klopp introduce some different players in the first time line up and mix it up.

9th July 2020 at 1:17 pm #126448Ye that’s it mate. Everton is akways a tough game and city are an excellent side
We got one point from these two games last season and the sane this season
Let’s just finish the season strongly and see what happens. No matter what, it’s been a historic season and it’s a great feeling to have won the pl

9th July 2020 at 6:12 pm #126454AnonymousI dunno Sean, I am just not pleased with the work ethic of the team. They are slipping… and no, I’m just joking. Everything is too good, this must be a dream.

9th July 2020 at 7:05 pm #126457Be an interesting summer ahead. Curtis Jones undoubtedly the brightest spark amongst the youngsters coming through. He doesn’t look out of place in the first team whenever I see him play which is the greatest compliment I can give him. So I’m all for promoting such players. As for Minamino, this is a guy that’s now 25 so he really needs to be knocking on the door sooner rather than later. I also think he needs to muscle up a bit for this league, so I think he’s some time away yet if he is to have a future. Elliot I think needs at least another season or two for me. Williams has looked quite good but again needs some development. Then there’s Keita. If he can stay fit, I do think there’s a player there. But we just keep seeing glimpses of something special and then he gets injured. So all in all, there’s quite a few maybes there rather than definites. So investment needed for me to both keep others on their toes, and to give us other options. Granted we’ve had the lockdown, a lot of our players have also been playing continually for a very long time now and I do just worry about burnout.

9th July 2020 at 7:27 pm #126459AnonymousMikus, the players may not have been able to go on holiday etc but they’ve had an incredibly long time now with their families. I really think they’d be dying to get back to football but that’s my guess.
Minamino does need to make a large step forward. I saw absolutely nothing that I liked about him until he started against Palace. I’m not going to say that I’m entirely converted but there were glimpses of promise there but he wasn’t fit enough and faded fast.
I’m right with you regards the rest.
I think it’s time we replaced Origi. Don’t need to go into how grateful I am for his input into our CL win, I am but he just looks out of sorts in general. I like the guy but jesus, I feel absolutely no hope when I see him in the line-up. Unless it’s a must win game, he does nothing for us.
it’s time to let go. he can find a club that plays a suitable style of football for him and we can get someone in whop fits into the way we play.

9th July 2020 at 7:41 pm #126460I just think we’ve been playing a long time though, and there probably ain’t going to be much of a pre season before we’re straight back into it next season.
As for Origi, I completely agree that he’s not got the talent of the others, but a big reason I think for his big goals in big games is due to the fact he’s a very cool head on the pitch and doesn’t get affected much by pressure, which is a very useful trait to have. So I’ve got mixed feelings about whether we should offload him. He’s obviously much better up top than on the wings too.

9th July 2020 at 7:48 pm #126461AnonymousYa, it’s definitely useful, case and point Everton match last season, Newcastle and I think another PL game.. of course the 2 goals in the 4-0 Barca game. The guy is a beast when the chips are down but unfortunately, he offers pretty much nothing besides that. I mean if he were half useful to us normally, or fit into our system and did a job, fine… but I don’t think it’s enough and it’s kinda not fair on him also. As someone on TT said, they imagined Origi would score more playing for a team that suited him and I’m inclined to agree. He’s definitely more useful up top but even then, he’s a square peg in a round hole.
With the virus, i guess we won’t be doing much in the way of deals, so Origi has another season to try and adapt his play to the team but I doubt it’ll happen.

11th July 2020 at 4:50 am #126972They are talking mid September.so there is room for a break there, especially for those either not in Europe or about to be eliminated (such as Chelsea).

11th July 2020 at 12:14 pm #127219AnonymousHendo out for the season. A good thing we secured the title before he got injured I guess. He’ll be lifting the trophy in a suit I guess.

11th July 2020 at 12:43 pm #127230If Henderson is in full kit Mak when he lifts the trophy as I think he should be there will be some who might need to eat a bit of humble pie.????

11th July 2020 at 12:51 pm #127231Lol not all nine. He’s injured. Terry was suspended in a one off final
He will need his kit on aseell lol. Sky’s starting theme for all games will have Henderson lifting the trophy so he needs his gear on mate ?
I never had a problem with terry. It was funny though

11th July 2020 at 1:05 pm #127238Injured or suspended makes no difference Sean. But Henderson should definitely lift the PL trophy in his full kit wearing a suit would look funny
Terry confirmed on SoccerAM: “I don’t know why people got so carried away with it. There were four or five other players in the same situation, it wasn’t just me!
“But because people don’t like me as much I got a bit more stick. It actually came from Uefa. In previous years they’d had players in suits but this time they wanted everyone in a kit.
“Not too many people know that.”
Different strokes for different folks.???

11th July 2020 at 2:17 pm #127272AnonymousNine, I’ve long praised Hendo. I just don’t rate him as a world class player. That is not me re-opening a discussion, but that’s just where the divide is. He’s been excellent for us now for a good while, so no humble pie required. I mean, I didn’t think he’d ever Captain us tot he PL title, so if that’s where it’s needed, I’ll happily scuff it. I like pie anyway 😉
As for the kit thing, again not looking to open any debate/wounds. I had totally forgotten about Terry and like Sean and yourself, I’ve no issue with the kit, I’d agree that he should wear his kit. My memory of this was us lifting the FA Cup years ago and Redknapp lifting it in a suit. It definitely is a bit odd/out of place and were they to do it all again, I’m sure they’d have had Redknapp in his kit.
