Hahaha, we may be getting ahead of ourselves C67 on that particular idea of a Thread 😀 🙂

Yeah true next month’s HEAD-TO-HEAD. Could be the turning point of where the Title will be heading.

I only seen the highlights of our game but from what I’m reading/hearing from others we maybe just deserved the win. I can’t stand the saying “there was contact” when a player dives. FFS I’d love to see these dudes in the mosh pit at a rock concert, they’d spend the whole gig on the floor. Throwing the head back and arms in the air is so unnatural even if you get a touch on the leg. It’s bloody embarrassing to watch IMO.
For the record I think there was minimal contact on Mane but definitely not enough to go down like he did.
As a Scouser (adopted) it’s great to see manu struggling and just as good to see city go down again. This season is panning out a lot like last season though where we had a 7 point lead & I still think city will win it.
    Take care cyber chums.

Oz, I would agree with you in some way regards to their not being enough contact for Mane to go down… but that’s not the question.

The question is, has he been impeded and its the perfect example because you can see that although Mane could have stayed up, he’d have had to recover his balance in order to play on effectively but time is not on your side when you have the ball at your feet in the opposition’s box.

I also don’t particularly like the flopping to the ground nonsense but it exists for the reason that players cant signal the refs attention whilst playing on.

My own definition of a dive may differ from others but when its a case of a player helping the ref to make the right call, I dont consider it to be a dive.

Shame you only got to see the highlights. It was a tense affair as a live match.

You listen to shearer on match of the day and the chap is a hypocrite. He said Lovrens push on Lewin in December 17 was a pen for Everton and sat days wasn’t???

Manes was more of a pen on sat then that.

He really did make the most of it but I thought it was a pen as he impeded as mak says

Abraham in the super cup there was much less contact and it was a pen. Both went to var but both played for the pen.

Albrighton clearly makes a silly challenge.

Oz, we were the much better side and highlights didn’t do us justice

Mak, Sean, thanks for the responses & sorry for the late reply lads, I don’t get on here much these days. Sean great to hear we were the much better side, a few mates that have access to watch the games told me the same but they are a bit biased so I wasn’t convinced. Long may it continue.

Yeah stick around Mak. We all know Adlab likes to wind up, Sean has highlighted this many times and rightly so, but I like to think just how much Liverpool must be annoying him to resort to such behavior. I think deep down he is maybe a little jealous after our Champions League win, crazy when you think how good City have it at the moment. Whatever it is, lets just laugh at him instead of quitting or getting angry.

Back to football matters, anyone else impressed with Lovren the other day? Sure we were all surprised to see him start instead of Gomez but I thought he did well. He’s had his doubters, with a few high profile clangers, plus a number of injury issues, but deep down he’s a pretty solid defender.

Matip still first choice when he returns however. I really doubted him before, thinking he was too passive to be a top central defender and also cringed every time he marauded forward (he did lose the ball a lot more then, now lays it off much better), but has definitely made me change my mind.

Lovren played very well on sat threeps.

Matip has been excellent since the home game to Napoli in the cl last December

He’s has become more aggressive. He’s better on the ball. He’s definitely 1st choice now and we missed him againest Salzburg
