3ps, yeah does look good for us.
Really pleased for Kelleher as he will get first team regular football as he rightly deserves. He deserves the recognition stepping in for Alisson and he more than played his part in us lifting the Title.
Hope we go for Gordon and Kerkez, and sell a few and I’d say we’d be in Tremendous shape and future for 25/26

Kerkez is almost done but won’t sign until the 2nd part of the transfer window as you can only sign two and after Frimpong Wirtz is priority.
Gordon, a striker and anyone else will depend on who leaves but I suspect a fair number will go.

Rumour we could lose Diaz; really like and respect the player and still think he has a lot to offer. It’s the moment in time though and currency used to strike up new deals for new faces.

Did well last season but can be a tad frustrating
Gakpo and diaz did great last year. Good numbers but i still think we can improve on them? Is that maybe a but harsh as i do compare them to mane who was unreal

3ps, looks like it’s good news heading our way. I must say, with a moment of anxiety in me as I thought there would be some kind of a breakdown over the fee.
To aid us, we’re going to receive funds from Real over Trent and the sale coming up of Kelleher. If we can off load Nunez and Elliot soon, this would be even better.

Who do you mean Nil? Wirtz? I’ve known for over two weeks he was deffo coming and have no worries about the deal not being finalised yet. I would guess maybe tomorrow or Friday, assuming he doesnt injure himself tonight vs Portugal (I think on UK tv? I will watch on German).
Kerkez is about 99% done, so again no need to worry. Him, Frimpong and Wirtz is an amazing start to the transfer window, adding to an already league winning squad only minus TAA.
But there is more to come…

Got to say, Pool bussiness is looking chuffing great already… squad is already looking seriously stronger.
TAA will be a big miss for sure, both 2 decent fullbacks coming in (Robertson leg’s have gone, let’s be honest), and Wirtz play making, filling in somewhat of a gap in the squad (nobody else fits that mould, I think)…
Don’t think a top draw #9 for the Goonies or the 115 “overhaul” gang are catching you lot…
Perhaps another top draw CB to partner VVD and you’re good to go…

If Konate signs, and I think he will, we dont need another top level CB as that VvD/Konate partnership is very good and perfect for how I think Slot will play next season. We will likely replace Quansah and perhaps Gomez in the squad and have been linked with a young North Afican player who’s name I cannot remember and even if I did cannot spell, but apparently he is the bees knees.
What we need is a striker assuming Wirtz doesnt play the false 9. Nunez will go, and Jota will also or be restricted to an impact sub role. Lautaro Martinez is the latest linked, been told there’s a big issue with sponsors at Inter so expect a fire sale.

I see what you mean on the window closing for a bit from the 10th so they’re obviously trying to push through the deal, but Wirtz will have international commitments.

True, if Konate signs. Kerkez and Frimpong in potential would strengthen the unit. We do need cover and some where down the line a replacement, but right now, I’m too focused on what we could bring in attacking wise lol 🙂

Alvarez is unlikely to come Nil, Martinez is thr latest link. Gordon might if either or both Diaz and Gakpo leave.
For me the biggest question is how Slot will set up his tactics. I think I know what he will do with the defence plus Gravenberch whilst in possesion but its where Wirtz fits that puzzles me. No 10 would be the obvious choice but if you look at his heat map you’ll see he spends a lot of time on the left cutting in. With Frimpong and Kerkez providing width the two wide players, Salah and Wirtz, would be a lot narrower. Szoboszlai and MacAllister both as 8s.

Not sure he would be a good fit for Pool, great on a counter attacking team with space to run into, but I could see him not hitting the same heights at a team which likes to play a high line and dictate the game.

Kind of agree regarding Gordon, but if you have a Firmino type who pulls defenders out of position then it makes space like what we saw with Mane. Depends on who liverpool get as their new no 9. He is more raw athleticism rather than technical ability.
However if my idea with Wirtz is correct then that sort of wide player would only be as a plan B so can’t imagine spending big thus ruling Gordon out. But for now it’s only guesswork.

Lucho is rumoured and has been rumoured. Such a good guy. I’m wondering who would take his place. Must admit to not seeing Wirtz so hoping to see him during the 3rd place play off, Sunday.
We once got to a point of executing a 4-2-4 with the original front 3 and possibly either Jota or Diaz as an addition. Would love us to get it to that with the right attacking players. Players do want to join us, but we must remember we have FSG and the links/rumours are what they are so any deals we do get done in the coming days, we’d be blessed. Equally, we have to be prepared to see players depart.
