@Sympathy – It’s like I said recently, we have to have things really go our way on any given match day to win games under Amorim as we very rarely win games unless that happens. Other than versus Sunderland we had to have the breaks go our way against Burnley, Chelsea and Liverpool to actually win those matches, and that has to change big time to pick up wins on a consistent basis, otherwise we will continue to be just a mid table (or lower) team.
As for European qualification, it has to be the Europa League as a minimum requirement for me, simple as that._____________________________

As long as his first choice midfield is Case/Bruno every game will be a struggle, its as simple as that!

Sydney – Did you see Carragher’s tactical assessment of the game? Amorim got his tactics spot on by being compact in the middle of the pitch. We didn’t play Sesko because he didn’t want to commit runners in behind Van Dyke because he normally wins all the headers. It was really smart from Amorim. We played it long and then when Van Dyke inevitably won the header we were there to pick up the 2nd ball. We did that by having Mbeumo, Cunha, Mount, Bruno and Casemiro all really compact in midfield. Then we had Amad as an outlet when we won the ball back. When we kept our shape Liverpool didn’t get a sniff but when we started losing our discipline and pressing randomly that’s when we got picked apart a few times. He’ll have to come up with a different plan for Brighton.
But your assessment of “every game we will struggle with Casemiro and Bruno in midfield” is bollocks unfortunately! 😉_____________________________

Need to follow that up with results against Brighton, Forest and Tottenham now, 7 points should be the min target
