Final note, can we now stop saying that Bruno Fernandes “stinks the place up” every week? He literally doesn’t. In fact, let’s have a read of these stats shall we;
52 assists for United – that’s more than Eric Cantona!
22 chances created this season – 5 more than the next best player in the league.“Since making his Premier League debut for United in 2020, Fernandes has created 128 more chances than his nearest rival – the former Manchester City favourite Kevin De Bruyne”!
By comparison those stats read chances created;Bruno – 560
De Bruyne – 432
Salah – 379Can we all just agree that the guy is amazing and move on?

20th October 2025 at 1:44 pm #228572But he never has been or ever will be a central midfielder, especially with the lack of legs and physicality we have in that area no matter who partners him. It was ridiculously bad recruitment to buy both Cunha and Mbuemo whilst totally ignoring that very fact, and to then try and accommodate both those two big money signings by pushing him deeper into central midfield was diabolical management by Amorim as well.
We might have got away with it yesterday, but over the course of a season we won’t, simple as that._____________________________

20th October 2025 at 2:30 pm #228573Agreed blacky but that’s not Bruno’s fault, it’s down to Amorim, Wilcox, Ratcliffe and everyone at board level.

20th October 2025 at 10:13 pm #228587Bruno in deep cmf is like watching a drunk tranny in high heels when it goes tough. Played way out of position and not strengthening him or the team at all in that position.
Brighton is a tougher opponent than Liverpool atm. Will cut through our midfield duo Bruno and who?
Our attack looking better especially Mbyemi and Amad. Sublime pass by Amad for the first goal. Our defence looking calmer with Lammens and his posts😁. Problem cmf and left wing back and not playing DeLigt and Maguire together, no words for Dalot.

21st October 2025 at 6:21 am #228601Great cross for the Maguire goal happy, but should have put us 2-0 up and gave the ball away again all day, usually on the half way line. He’s been great for us no doubt, but he’s becoming increasingly less effective by the game.

21st October 2025 at 7:05 am #228604JM – I just mean from a chance creation perspective there’s seemingly no one better around. Yes we have to suck up his unsuitability for the CMF role and the fact that he gives the ball away for fun when trying to create chances. But a top DM next to him could perhaps make up for that and give us a bit more protection.
Cunha looks like he’s about to burst into life and Mbeumo kind of has already. With Sesko up top I’m wondering why he can’t slot Mount into midfield next to Bruno? I know it’s more square pegs in round holes but at least it gets all of Amorim’s best players into the team.
Does Mount have the tactical discipline to play that role, maybe not? But he’s a grafter and he’s good with the ball and tenacious. Dunno, just thinking that he’d probably be better than Casemiro in there. Mainoo and Ugarte obviously not good enough._____________________________

21st October 2025 at 8:10 am #228611I will die on my sword saying that one of our CBs is wasted and we would be better off having an extra body in midfield in the more traditional 4-3-3. We are meant to have extra bodies in midfield from the LWB and RWB players but, evidently, it is not happening.
Cunha, Mbuemo and even Sesko are starting to settle in, and Lemmens has been great so far, so it is good to see some summer signings actually being improvements for once!
It is absolutely vital that we beat Brighton to end the hoodoo we have with them and reset the mentality and show the team that yes: you CAN win multiple games in a row!

21st October 2025 at 8:19 am #228612Sympathy – How does the 3-4-3 work in Palace’s system? They don’t seem to be overloaded in midfield or easy to play through? Is it just a case of Amorim hasn’t quite got the players he needs yet?

21st October 2025 at 9:57 am #228617@happyhurling – I think the Palace system works because:
1. The players are fitter and more dynamic (constantly moving, making runs into space, etc.)
2. One of their CBs tends to push up a little whilst their forward drops back a little too which congests the central areas when defending.
3. The players are better trained in the system and know what to do.If we had the right players and time I’d have no issue with 3-4-3 (Amorim had it working at Sporting) but, with the current players, we need to play 4-3-3.

21st October 2025 at 9:57 am #228618So if you “haven’t got the players yet” why in fucks name play a way that doesn’t suit the players that you do have? If you are supposed to be a top manager you cannot just keep on saying things like “I will not change, even for the Pope” and expect to get away with it at Manchester United.
Top managers adapt their tactics to the situation that is put before them, they don’t just put their fingers in their ears and bury their head in the sand like Amorim does._____________________________

21st October 2025 at 1:08 pm #228630Mount as cmf😒,i rather have Martinez there. Mount as a left wingback,cant be worse than Dalot or Dorgu.

22nd October 2025 at 4:34 am #228681I did highlight how much Bruno gave the ball away and how it constantly put pressure on the defense but was slated and called a “moaner” .. Yes his assist was sublime but if he gives the ball away 15times in 30mins and the opposition scores 2goals from that then the assist he created isn’t worth much is it;
1. It’s not Bruno’s fault he is being made to play deeper
2. He is a seasoned professional and not some 20yr old; he is 31years old and has played that position for about a year now. there should be some adjustments on his part such as his positional awareness, how to keep the ball better and his decision making.

22nd October 2025 at 7:36 am #228684@happyhurling – we can’t afford multiple years of 15th place finishes just to allow Amorim to get the players he wants; in a dreamworld yes… but… we need to be competitive, so we have to go down one of two roads:
1. Amorim needs to adapt his tactics for the players he has right now in order to get results in the here and now and then, whilst getting results, he can also bring in players for the 3-4-3 system and ultimately evolve into the formation.
2. If he is unwilling to do this, and the team doesn’t achieve any improvements in the short to medium term and we end up with another horrible season, then he will need to move on and we need to get someone who is able to adapt to the situation.

22nd October 2025 at 8:16 am #228686@Sympathy – You’re wasting your time mate, if all those chances Liverpool created had gone in he’d now be saying the sort of things he was after the Brentford match. Fact is, it’s a result’s based business so if Amorim hasn’t demonstrated clear progress and achieved at least European football by the end of the season he’ll be gone, and rightly so.

22nd October 2025 at 10:20 am #228692@blacky67 – I think it flows both ways mate: we haven’t been horrible results wise this year; Grimsby and Brentford results aside, it was pretty much what I expected in terms of points, etc., with some positive results against Chelsea and Liverpool drowning out what may have been better results against Fulham and Arsenal for example. Considering this, I am not against giving Amorim some more time to get points on the board before any sacking takes place.
My biggest issue remains that he fails to adapt to the squad he has and hasn’t really got us playing any good football; that’s the big worry and I do strongly believe that if he doesn’t adapt we will drop a lot more points (luck will run out eventually) and that will eventually mean that he will be sacked.
Fully agree with you that he should be gone end of season if we don’t meet our expectations (and, I think, Conference League table result should be the bare minimum with this squad).
Cheers
