It reminds me of the formation we used against Wolves in our last match for the last 20-30 minutes, hopefully Robbo and Frimpong can provide some width as I think Wirtz will naturally wonder into the midfield area.

1st January 2026 at 6:08 pm #235159at least we are seeing the lads attacking even if they are not finishing one final third pass that could make a difference

1st January 2026 at 6:19 pm #235160Weβre improving. A bit more intensity. Lacking clinical final passes. Will gel.
Now, letβs not fade in second half and weβll win this._____________________________

1st January 2026 at 6:20 pm #235161A ropey first 10 and then we controlled the rest of the half without doing an awful lot.
It may be a 4-2-3-1 on paper but most defo not in practice.
Wirtz and Ekitike have looked lively but I fail to see the patterns of play to get the most out of them or to create for them.
Frimpong looks to have joy when he has space to attack but as we know with this set up we donβt create space for our attacking players to thrive.

1st January 2026 at 6:22 pm #235162I really like Frimpong when you see him in top condition, that recovery pace is to die for, no wonder why nobody almost runs past him but I love him as a fullback, not as a forward. He lacks that composure when delivering the ball in the final third but wow, he could turn into some player for us as a fullback. Cause that is everything you want from a fullback.

1st January 2026 at 6:22 pm #235163Pretty slow and boring. Worrying thing is Slot usually slows it down further in 2nd halves. Some nice touches from Wirtz, Ekitike and Frimpong but no real sustained pressure on the Leeds defence.

1st January 2026 at 6:22 pm #235164Intensity did improve for sure. We’re playing passes to players whereby the opponent just closes in. Space has been a constraint for us when initiating.
The counter may be a better option for us. Why not play crosses more direct like Leeds have done into the Danger area?

1st January 2026 at 6:33 pm #235165The one substitute I would like to see is Chiesa for Bradley, move Frimpong back and see what we can conjure up but we are likely too see Gakpo for Wirtz instead.

1st January 2026 at 6:34 pm #235167Calvert Lewin to come on soon and cause all sorts of problems.
Iβd hoped earlier weβd have this wrapped up first half, clearly not.
We need to come out flying 2nd half and take the lead.
