Sesko is not an upgrade to Højlund. What a waste of money. Should have gone for DCL on a free, as I suggested in the summer, and instead invested the money in midfield.

4th January 2026 at 2:27 pm #235448I actually think Sesko will come good even though it’s not happening for him at the moment. His link up play is good. Hope so anyway, because if he doesn’t we’ve wasted another 70 million.

4th January 2026 at 2:28 pm #235449Thought Martinez played particularly well today, a real captain’s display.

4th January 2026 at 2:29 pm #235450@Jumpers i completely agree with you …Also sesko has got to get his brain working with regards to his finishing and how many more games are we gona draw or loose before Amorim realizes the 343 won’t work ..
Now imagine Amad or Mbeumo on that right flank in a 442 or 433 instead of Dorgu …
I disagree about the comparison between Sesko and Hojlund … The latter was pure donkey, Sesko will get the goals because his overall play has been good

4th January 2026 at 2:29 pm #235453I hope so too Jm1502, it’s looking less likely every game. Hopefully a goal will give him confidence.

4th January 2026 at 2:33 pm #235455Decent result and performance. Leeds have had an absolutely brilliant 4-6 weeks. Sesko should have buried at least 1 of his chances though, Cunha hit the post at the end too. Unlucky. More possession and more shots today but, again, there’s no way we can really compete without Bruno, Mount, Maguire, De Ligt, Amad and Mbeumo. That’s half a team. City couldn’t cope without 1 player the other year.
We needed 7 points from 9 though and at best we can get 5 now. The Wolves result was a sickner. He somehow has to find a way to beat Burnley on Wednesday. Its a must win!

4th January 2026 at 2:33 pm #235456@DeeUtd, Dorgu is useless and shouldn’t be on the pitch but circa 50% of our first team are unavailable. I wasn’t expecting us playing well but when players are not available you need to put away your chances. Sesko has missed a few decent opportunities this season and you can’t blame the formation for his misses.

4th January 2026 at 2:37 pm #235459Heaven was lost because of pace for the goal nothing else. But again Heaven does it better in a back 4. Ugarte did plenty of tackles and interceptions. Zirkze was good coming in has a understanding of the game with clever passes to Sesko and Cunha. Sesko should have done better with the chance with his right foot. But wanting back Höjlundh lying on the ground for most of the game is very daft thinking.

4th January 2026 at 2:37 pm #235460@jumpers i am not making an excuse for Sesko misses and we also can’t always say because we have certain amount of players unavailable hence why our manager keeps choosing a tactic which is obviously not suitable to the team…
Btw other teams have also had a chunk of their team unavailable and still get results so that’s also not an excuse and even with the availability of Mount, Bruno, Maguire etc we still conceded shitty goals and had poor passage of gameplay

4th January 2026 at 2:40 pm #235461The main problem with Sesko is he just doesn’t have quick feet for a striker. Something he really needs to work on or he won’t make it in the PL. You couldn’t make it up that Bruno, Mount and Mainoo could all get injured at the same time but Cunha really needs to do more in that no. 10 position. Thought it was a scrappy game with little quality anywhere.

4th January 2026 at 2:47 pm #235466@zico, nobody wants Hojlund back, just commenting that Sesko has been just as big a donkey so far. Only daft thinking is from you.

4th January 2026 at 2:50 pm #235468With the 2 new wide players, Watkins with them would have been a good mobile front 3.

4th January 2026 at 2:54 pm #235469I actually think Sesko has got quick feet, demonstrated in his link up play on numerous occasions today. Yes, he had a couple of chances today but they were by no means gimmees. And once again, the through balls and balls into the box were mostly poor quality. I doubt even Haaland would make much of the service United’s midfield and wide men offer.

4th January 2026 at 2:58 pm #235470Maybe Haaland would struggle to score but he would have scored more than 2 goals in 15 appearances.

4th January 2026 at 3:10 pm #235476Been saying it for a long time, it wouldn’t matter who the fuck played up top for us in this particular team, be it Haaland, Kane, RvN or even the late great Denis Law because they would all be totally starved of service. Cutting the ball back from the dead ball line is one of the most lethal actions in football, but I can’t remember the last time one of our players managed to do it, which along with our total inability to cross the ball with any sort of quality is a massive problem.
The clueless hierarchy at OT should never have appointed a manager who wanted to just drive a big hole through our entire footballing DNA by refusing to play with wingers because they have been massively integral to any success we have ever had in our entire history, simple as that._____________________________

4th January 2026 at 3:11 pm #235477Fair enough but I see a player, but maybe not a prolific goal scorer which is of course what we thought we were going to get.7

4th January 2026 at 3:26 pm #235486@blacky I don’t dispute what your saying but did you see the chance?
It’s from 2.20 now a £70m striker should be scoring that. Fucking useless.

4th January 2026 at 3:53 pm #235508My point is that the supply line is so fucking poor that if you’re playing up front you know that you’re going to get very few really good chances to score a goal from one week to the next so when a half chance comes your way you almost inevitably snatch at it. That chance he missed today was not a sitter by any means because he was in front of the near post, so it needed diverting the other way towards the back post to score the goal.
Either way, there is such a massive dearth of good (never mind great) strikers out there nowadays so we need to concentrate on being far more creative and massively improving the supply line into the box, because it’s just fucking criminal that a 6 foot 5 inch centre forward is not being given any sort of quality crosses to get his head on from one month to the next._____________________________
