He’s been crap, not fighting for the team. Then rightfully benched and he takes to the media to complain. I’m more upset with him than Slot. At least Slot is trying! (But missing Chiesa!!!)

If Salah has been the only one being crap I’d be right behind you with this.

But he’s not.

And the levels Salah has played at consistently for years at Liverpool indicates something else has changed.

All their levels can’t have dropped all at once.

It’s been an emotional response from Salah but the problems don’t lie at his feet.

Agree with Ginger. Players don’t en mass all go crap over a summer break. Salah is getting on but he had probably the best individual season in the PL by anyone last season.

The truth is neither Salah or Slot are the future of this club, but Salah has ….and possibly reading between the lines …but I feel he has the backing of a lot of the senior players….but he has looked to make it a straight Slot or Salah decision for the board.
In my opinion another manager can get this team moving in the right direction or at least watchable and Salah can return to better form under more suitable tactics. Slot however has shown nothing of being able to adapt to overturn the current slump. In fact he has been in decline since the end of March last year.

For me I’ve seen enough of Slots style now, it’s not showing any sign of improvement. The season is currently a shambles, I would honestly give interim to Gerrard with the hope of Alonso if/when he comes available. Gerrard would bring back the feel good factor, the football won’t be revolutionary but would at least be entertaining and we would get to see Chiesa start!

There are multiple players who could be “rightfully benched”.

For some reason Slot can’t get a tune out of one of the top scorers in the prem league history.

And a player who had one of best seasons ever last year.

And Salah isn’t the only player he can’t get a tune out of this season, yet it’s Salah being benched.

I think the team has been losing confidence since the latter half of last season. There was a brief recovery/bounce at the start of this season but that swiftly evaporated and here we are. Only way out now is a change at the top because there’s clearly no impact being had on the team from the manager.

Exactly what i said Mikus, but i was shot down for that!

thankfully Mo has opened that can….and now maybe you see why players like Chiesa arent used, it’s Slot’s attitude and ego. There have been rumours and talk of issue between Slot and the players, just look at the many times VVD has had player meetings, these weren’t your average meetings, but ones of trying to keep the squad together. The tactics have been chaotic and baffling to many, and not just the fans. This was coming, and its now here and in the open.

Gerrard was sounded out three weeks ago, thats true. He’s sceptical as he will have a huge tax bill from his time in Saudi, I think its March-ish where he will avoid that hit, this why he dodged Rangers.
But, due to his LFC connection he’ll take it and I think he has asked for an assistant role after the ‘new’ longer term manager comes in.
I wonder how the trip home went on the bus….

Gerrard for interim has been doing the rounds for a bit now, although not heard the assistant role thing. Can’t see that being agreed, any new man will want to bring his own people in.
