Halgrimsson said it was funny that their timewasting cost them the match. If they hadn’t made all the subs, gone down with ‘injuries’ the likelihood is that the whistle would have gone before the goal and Hungary would be in the playoffs, not Ireland.

17th November 2025 at 1:45 pm #230726Football has a great way of providing instant karma for stuff like feigning injury. I thought Szoboszlai absolutely ran the game, best player on the pitch. But even he got caught up in the shenanigans.
Still can’t see how their first goal wasn’t chalked off, lad was about a yard offside!
Watched the whole thing again this morning – absolutely magical!

17th November 2025 at 2:13 pm #230728@happy, he wasn’t, if you check the replays and close-ups, one of the Irish players’ boots was playing the goalscorer onside, ironically I think it may have been Parrott.

17th November 2025 at 5:56 pm #230730Ah didn’t see that, just looked clearly offside to me.
Anyway, didn’t matter in the end!

28th March 2026 at 11:10 am #242657Well 1-1.
I don’t know whether to read too much into a friendly result. Didn’t get 10 mins of watching and switched off.
Tuchel seems a cool enough guy and Manager to lead us. Obviously from an England fan point of view, I’d love us to go all the way.
Noticing a shift in change of our attitudes when it comes to tradition. Some players don’t want to sing the National Anthem of this Country when played. Maybe that’s another conversation entirely.
We’ve got I think individual players, but it’s whether or not we can put together a Winning Formula good enough to take us through the all important journey.

31st March 2026 at 10:17 pm #242821Fair Play to Japan. Friendly as well as missing a fair few regulars, but you’d think this Team put out would have given a little bit more Tonight.
Back To The Drawing Board.
