I actually didnt think we’d see this change or something similar until Salah went to AFCON but obviously with recent events he’s had to it a little earlier.

We’re unbeaten in 4.
One or two of those we should have won.
But we’ll have to see how this goes over the next few week.
were gonna have a game a weekend coming up soon so allows a bit more coaching time but Januarys fixture list is simply crazy.

One things been itching at me…
Wirtz joined end of June, done the full pre season, had plenty of time before the season had started and still Slot doesnt think hes fit enough to play a full 90.
Hes had one “knock” that kept him out for a coupla games but thats it.
Its mid December.
Hows he not got him up to a point by now that he can play a full 90?

Yes he played very well, particularly in the first half.
Jones issue is that he gets into these runs of form and then picks up an injury.
He has the ability to put in these types of performances, ive seen them many times, the knocks/injuries kill any sort of momentum for him.
TBF he had the most appearances last season in his Liverpool career…

Threeps, thats exactly it. Inter didnt put under any pressure. Any team that has a go at is causing us problems

Huge place to go and win but they were awful.

Great result but ill no go overboard about it at all.

C’mon now.

They weren’t awful.

And they did put us under pressure at times but we dealt with it and were set up where we kept them at arms length for long periods.

Ah i was expecting much more from them ginger to be honest

Toothless going forward. Well organised as a defensive unit

Maybe i should give us a bit more credit but they were very reserved and seem to settle for a draw from early doors

They created one real chance as i said outstanding result to go there and win

Honestly I think Jones should be in the team just because of his temperment, he often seems to be the lad that cares the most and experience wise 200 games at 24 years old is not bad, compare that to Gerrard at the same age who is obviously the better player and played in a worse team but he had around 300 games at the same age. Jones for example has played better than Macca this season so I would not be surprised to see him get a prolonged run in the team. Hopefully he can stay away from any injuries for the rest of the season and get more games than last season. BTW with Salah probably leaving I think there is a spot for Elliott in the team, for example if we keep up with this diamond formation and 2 strikers we only have Szoboszlai who naturally likes to drift into that space on the right flank. I think Elliott would be a nice fit on the right hand side of that diamond. Sean I got to credit Slot the win actually, he was under massive pressure in this game, if we had lost and drifted down the champions league out of automatic qualification the pressure would have increased. He took a gamble with the 2 striker system and albeit we did not set the world on fire going forward we stayed relatively compact at the back with Alison only bailing us out once or twice. We got a little bit lucky with the penalty, it was very soft but you can´t pull the shirt of another player inside the box, Wirtz might have gone down like he was shot but it is the only way to signal the referee under the circumstance. I thought the ref did a good job, he disallowed the first goal rightfully, it was a handball and then Konate scored. I would have been furious if someone scored a goal like that against us. I want more of that two striker system, I really like Ekitike as a player and I really like the idea of having two tall guys up top but we need to service them.
