Our last visit here though three years ago was fruitful. Solid performance that night in the 1st round knockout stage. Our ‘old’ and in-form back five of Alisson, Trent, Konate, VVD and Robbo with terrific balance in mid of Fab and Thiago protecting Elliott with a front three of Mane, Jota and Salah. Won 2-0 with two late goals from Bobby and Mo.

Who will start? Well, we know Mo won’t be nor likely travelling and Gakpo was missing from training today along with, unbelievably but not surprising, Chiesa.

Alisson, Gomez, Konate, VVD, Robbo, Grav, Mac, Szobo, Wirtz, Isak and Ekitike in a 442 shape.

In a 4-3-1-2 to give that added protection to the defence while still being able to have a threat up front.

Gomez looks like he physically ready to start centreback and take over from the awful Konate and MacA is reverting to his earlier form.

However I don’t think Slot will do this and I fear a hammering here.

A draw is far from a bad result here.

Tough away game, but we have to go there believing we can get a result, and play accordingly to get one. No time for negativity.

But as I said before the Leeds game, we have to STOP the self-sabotage and needless mistakes that have cost us severely this season. For example, the coaching staff were screaming at the players in the last minute to focus on defending the corner properly, but they just didn’t listen.

Rotation is in order, and I’d leave Konaté on the bench to give him something to think about.

As for the formation, possibly a 4312, with a solid midfield, behind Wirtz roving all over the place. Or even our traditional 4231, with Wirtz and Ekitike on the wings, and Ekitike definitely has the pace to do a job there.

Referee for tomorrow night like to give out red cards, has issued one in seven of his last eight games in this competition – including all four this season – and in eight of the last 10.

Bradley is already suspended for the weekend, he gets even a yellow tomorrow night and he misses the next CL game too.

U19’s just got twatted 5-0 against Inter. Dead rubber tho as they’ve already qualified for the last 32. Nyoni and Lucky who would’ve been involved were bumped up to the senior squad. Morrison hasn’t been added as he played in this match.
