De Zerbi was rumoured to be holding out for United, but may be tempted by Spurs. He’s an angry cunt but certainly has something about him.

12th February 2026 at 3:39 pm #239340It’s early days, I wouldn’t right him off yet. If Cunha starts again then I think we can categorically state that he lacks the ruthlessness. I think calls for him to get the job are premature. Let’s see how he’s doing in May.
@jm, I think di Zerbi is a bit of a Tuchel, he’s a tendency to burn his bridges and he can’t coach a defence to save his life which is definitely something that we can do without. His teams are too open.-

12th February 2026 at 5:41 pm #239346its about performances for me, happy. not stats or points. I think we’ve had 3 good performances and 2 poor ones, so jury is still out. we should have an idea of what he’s about come end of season. my concern is are we going to miss out on the very top managers, just like we did with pep and klopp because of the idiots who do the selection

13th February 2026 at 11:53 am #239382The only supposedly ‘top’ manager who’s currently available is di Zerbi who I don’t rate at all. Tuchel can’t stay at a club for longer that two or three years without burning every bridge, he’s made for International management because money and board backing in terms acquisition of players isn’t an issue. Ancelotti is possibly the only one I’d really go for but he’s supposedly just agreed a new deal with Brazil until 2028 or maybe 2030. As we’ve learned from Amorim, there’s no guarantee that the likes of Iraola or Glasner would be a success for us. Of them all, I’d be inclined to lean towards Glasner on the basis that both Klopp and Rangnick seem to rate him as a coach.

13th February 2026 at 1:40 pm #239385Bob – Results are more important than performances. Arsenal played shite yesterday but they’d have taken a 0-1 all day long. They’ve not played that well for a while now but still top of the league. There are times in a season where you just have to grind out results and that’s all that matters. I’d wager that no manager out there would have guided us to those 13 points from 15. And if Tuchel and now Ancelotti are unavailable then we have to look down a tier at the likes of Glasner, Di Zerbi and Iraola. And if that’s the case then all of a sudden our very own Michael Carrick, fresh with his manager of the month award, is at least 1 step closer to landing the job permanently in the summer!

13th February 2026 at 2:36 pm #239389@Happy mate i definitely would love whatever you smoke sometimes mate 😜.. carrick taking off Maguire was because he got injured; now imagine Maguire in place of Yoro when we got on the back foot and West Ham had those 3good chances… I am not hating on Carrick or anything of the sorts but we need a Manager who can get things spot on such as Line up, in-game management, Tactics and if we do qualify for Champions league with Carrick in Charge he will get out done again and again.
Ever since i have been screaming on here when Cunha is on the pitch just fucking tell him to mix it up by staying wide and sometimes coming in field not him completely abandoning the left flank; it was evident against Fulham, Spurs and also West Ham yet that hasn’t been fixed.

13th February 2026 at 2:46 pm #239392Also if we can’t get a Top Manager i would be inclined towards Glasner for the fact that he built a very impressive Palace team and had them playing really well with defensive solidity prior to this season and that’s also with the fact that every season at least 2 of his players keep getting sold and his stats at Palace speaks for him.
I would stay away from De Zerbi; his teams always concede too many goals and we already have a shite defense.

13th February 2026 at 3:16 pm #239394I liked Glasner too but he didn’t cover himself in any glory the way he essentially threw a grenade onto Crystal Palace’s season.
Seemed like a bit of a bellend the way he threw his toys out of the pram there._____________________________

13th February 2026 at 6:23 pm #239398Whomever the club decide to be the permanent manager/head coach, will come with risk. It’s about negotiating that risk to lowest.
I like Carrick he’s calm and level headed but let’s have it right. He’s almost got a free hit. Managing Man Utd now until the end of the season is a whole different ball game than starting a new season with the cup competitions to consider as well.
Truthfully I can’t think of one manager who I say yes he’s definitely the man we need.
Saying that I would watch what happens with Eddie Howe and Newcastle. It wouldn’t surprise me if we went for him._____________________________

14th February 2026 at 10:51 am #239414Ratcliffe’s a prick but he’s entitled to his opinion. He should have told Starmer and the PL to go fuck themselves, not apologise. I mean, the PL considering banning a guy from entering his own business is fucking ludicrous. What has this country come to? Whatever happened to free speech? As for Lineker, he’s the greatest prick of all.

14th February 2026 at 2:40 pm #239423We’ve been fighting for freedom of speech for generations. And now these woke cunts are essentially taking it away in case people say something “offensive”. Absolutely mental.
Although what a bellend Ratcliffe is sitting there in Monaco paying fuck all tax and saying the country is falling apart. Ha ha, the fucking irony!!

14th February 2026 at 5:42 pm #239427Absolutely not backing Ratcliffe as his name implies “RAT” but until 2020 he paid Taxes in the UK until moving all his assets to Monaco like some he has every right to not want to pay taxes to a government who predominantly do not use those taxes for the betterment of the country but him apologizing because of Starmer and the woke side was just spineless.
Also Free speech died a long time ago …

16th February 2026 at 1:47 pm #239528@zico “What Orwell feared were those who would ban books. What Huxley feared was that there would be no reason to ban a book, for there would be no one who wanted to read one. Orwell feared those who would deprive us of information. Huxley feared those who would give us so much that we would be reduced to passivity and egoism. Orwell feared that the truth would be concealed from us. Huxley feared the truth would be drowned in a sea of irrelevance. Orwell feared we would become a captive culture. Huxley feared we would become a trivial culture, preoccupied with some equivalent of the feelies, the orgy porgy, and the centrifugal bumblepuppy. As Huxley remarked in Brave New World Revisited, the civil libertarians and rationalists who are ever on the alert to oppose tyranny “failed to take into account man’s almost infinite appetite for distractions.”
In 1984, Huxley added, “people are controlled by inflicting pain. In Brave New World, they are controlled by inflicting pleasure. In short, Orwell feared that what we hate will ruin us. Huxley feared that what we love will ruin us”.”

16th February 2026 at 5:05 pm #239529I can tell you guys one thing, Ratcliffe did not endear himself to the Icelandic public with those comments about immigrants. Being a immigrant there himself and buying up property.

17th February 2026 at 2:07 pm #239547Not sure where you get Iceland from, I thought he lived in Monaco. But there’s a difference between someone who emigrated to another country and can support themselves and those that come into another country and sponge off the state bingo. I think Ratcliffe was referring to those that come here and don’t pay their way mate.
