Well, can’t ever recall going into half-time with a 4-0 lead.
Thankful. Enjoying it, living it, loving it, though by no means taking anything for granted.
That said, would love another goal at the very least. My workmate has what’s-app’d with me with a 7-0, man that’s not happening as that away Dressing Room will be full of thrown Tea Cups hahaha.

Was it not always the case that the Champions first game was at home. I seem to remember Utd were always at home first game or was that not the case? Last two seasons our first game is away.

Adlab, I was wondering the same. I could be barking up the wrong tree, but possibly it could be to some extent, accommodating Liverpool to prepare them better for Wednesday as they have to travel for a Super Cup game.

The front 3 (Salah, Mane, Firmino) look as sharp as tacks considering the long previous season and busy summer. Potential worry though in the latter part of the season.

Good to win but we phoned in the second half. This was a goal difference bonanza game. We should have kept at them but I guess they were tiring.
The defence wasnt great but it might take a few games. Losing Alisson was a shoxk. Seems he might be out for a while.
I wasnt too pleased to see Mane coming on if Im honest. I mean, I was quite ambivalent about it because Mane is awesome but its too early for him. We camt risk that surely?… anyway..

What are your feelings towards the suoer cup being on wednesday? Extra game to get oir teams match fit? Or awkward timing for a kinda pointless match?
Im mostly of the mind that we can use it to get players fit. I think this is a better one to give Mane 20 minutes in. What with the community shield, yesterday and then this, we should essentially be at full fitness afterwards.

Bit awkward timing of the match in midweek Mak. I’d definitely use it though to play the likes of Keita and Ox who need the game time. We can always bring the cavalry on later.

As a rule, I care about all competitive games, or I used to but thanks to klopps preference of a small squad, Ive adapted to care less about some. Eyes on the prize kind of thing…
I do like the sound of playing ox, keita and even brewster in it. I guess we dont want to throw it away, as a loss might hurt our confidence, so no other kidd. Lallana is another who could use the tine and Matip too, after gomez started the PL

Mikuis/Mav are you concerned about our high line last two games? We are playing even further up the pitch then usual and it’s been far to easy to get in behind us
Early days but why change a winning formula? We played a high line last year but it was a few yards back. Now we are nearly pushed up to the half way line

Sean, Klopp seemed to deny this when asked by Carragher. One thing I would say is that we did seem to press from the off last night, and we certainly pressed vs City in the second half. I think that’s probably what’s making us seem to play with a higher line at the moment, but we’ll see as the season develops.
