With VAR, with the grey areas, you’re basically opening up the decision to a committee, which I think just exacerbates the situation. With regards the monitor, would it not be better if the ref had to go down the tunnel to watch it, i.e. out the viewing eye, which only puts pressure on him?

I saw an LBW Decision checked by the Decision Review System between India and Pakistan, and although they took their time, they rightly supported the Umpire’s original decision.

Football has complexities, but those complexities are fueled I’m sorry to say at least from one variables in players feigning injury or simulation of something drastic being done to them.

I’m tired of this more and more because you can’t tackle a player. The flow has broken of a game where so much time off play is consumed, you are better off going to a Theatre to watch a film, knowing, there’s one Intermission.

Mikus, I agree. The Referee needs to be placed in an isolated area when going through his own review of the monitor. The outcome is always changed and never stuck by the original decision.

Offsides, still have a problematic area with Armpits, so sensible changes really need to be enforced otherwise we risk angry people calling for the whole technology to be scrapped.

Just watched the Utd game. Can’t believe this is the same team that lost to Brentford. So much more desire and hunger now. Great to see. I did think the disallowed Martinelli goal was wrong. If that foul had happened in the box the ref wouldn’t have reversed the decision. Very soft, it was technically a foul but for me VAR shouldn’t have overturned it.

I must be the only one who actually thought the decision against the Hammers was the correct one. He did foul Mendy

Nice one Ed. Great game to fry to id say mate

Foxy, that’s it. It’s not like utd are playing great football but the hunger and desire is very much there. They are running their balls off and fighting for everything

            Still very early days.

I thought Arsenal played some lovely stuff at times definitely the best Arsenal team for some time imo I thought Arteta probably was a bit too previous with his substitutions and from there they lost their way.

United are functional with a hint of luxury and progressing under EtH potentially they look like top 4 contenders but top 4 qualification is going to be probably the most competitive it’s ever been this season.

I fear for Brendan Rodgers and Leicester City I can’t see any benefit in replacing him who will they get whose better the problem is the quality of the squad and with limited funds even in January it’s going to be an uphill task for them.

Nine. What did you think of West Ham’s non given equaliser?
                And how are you feeling?

Listening to the discussion on 5live at the moment. Many contributors think it was wrong to disallow the Arsenal goal.

Adlab, I would have been disappointed to have been on the recieving end of it. Should have ended 2-2.

Progressing well up and down stairs now which is a big step forward but had a set back elsewhere. Thanks for asking . Cheers 9’s

Interesting set of results and some really good and fun football played in terms of summing up this weekend’s action. I would love to visit the Brentford Community stadium just as a fan of football and also the Amex. I’m sure it’d be a great experience.

I don’t bother with TV build ups. That includes my team; just literally switch on at kick off time and switch off after the final whistle – best way.

The pace of the game has significantly dialed so it’s a challenge enough as it is for Referees to keep up. The one overshadow is the VAR decisions. Never a perfect system in the eyes of the people because not everybody will agree with the decisions.

Oh well, best to draw a line under this one as we have Champions League etc, then a new weekend altogether. Hopefully improvements πŸ™‚

There is no doubt in my mind that Rodgers is trying to get fired so he can get paid out. The comments recently certainly suggests this!
I agree with you Nine, I don’t want to see him go as the alternatives won’t be any better. I still maintain that we have a top 10 squad as it stands but if we have a manager who is doing his best to lose games right now in order to prove a point to the board then I think he does have to go. His decisions have been baffling. Nearly every foxes fan has the same opinion about which players he should be picking and yet he goes for players we all wanted gone from the squad. He really is sabotaging the team right now.
