2nd October 2025 at 2:09 pm #227778Every time I look at Kerkez playing for us – I’ve thought that something just doesn’t look right about his body positioning. Then, lo and behold, I came across this X-post which totally described what I had been thinking all along.

OK, I know it’s easy to cherry-pick clips to make your own point, but there is definitely something in this and helps explain why we are lacking width on the left flank in particular as his body angle as he receives the ball is always to pass inside (usually to Grav). As soon as any press is made against him – which teams are doing – then his play is telegraphed and predictable and then the whole team gets easier to play against.

2nd October 2025 at 2:17 pm #227779One of hos strengths is over lapping but he is under lapping and far to inverted at times. Tactics are a huge part of his problen. Hes learning a new role really.
Robbo never under lapped this much. He did it now and again
Robbo has to come back in and slowly integrate kerkes. Robbo was not 1st choice for us until the December of his 1st season

You do talk some rubbish, I totally get over players very quickly, as proven by my statements here when players depart.
I was simply just answering threeps comment, and pointing out the bleeding obvious, that we have not adequately replaced two of our highly influential players from last season – a playmaking right-back, and a left-winger so good, he was also our first choice at No. 9.

3rd October 2025 at 10:13 am #227823“Salah was the not only the best right winger in the league last season, but the best player by miles (way ahead of Diaz), and some might say the best in the World, yet he is struggling currently with this tactical set up.”
I was referring to left-wingers, not right-wingers, so I don’t know why you’re bringing Salah into the debate.
And how exactly is Salah struggling with this set-up?
It’s only 6 games, yet he’s proven his consistency by performing at the highest level for 8 seasons in a row – judge him at the end of the season. Plus he hasn’t got the playmaker Trent playing behind him now, so of course that has had a detrimental effect on his performance.
The main issue, from a team perspective, seems to be the integration of Wirtz as a No. 10 in a new playing style leaving big gaps in midfield, hence why Szoboszlai was restored to our usual midfield setup against Everton, and it worked really well. And I hope this is what happens tomorrow.

You’ve talked about Diaz multiple times this season.
He plays for Bayern Munich now.
Time to let him go._____________________________

5th October 2025 at 8:36 pm #228011Songman if you cannot see why I brought Salah’s name into the discussion than that is more a reflection on yourself and your ability (or lack of) to exchange and acknowldge different opinions. To everyone else I am sure it was bleeding obvious.

5th October 2025 at 9:02 pm #228013We need to be real here and find some form of learning, training and management to be able to cope a 100 minute in a hostile environment. If we’re intending with the 4-2-3-1, then work out a proper game plan being able to take the sting out.
I know we have problems with many new players at once, but we can’t be a rabbit in headlights and be timid.
