I look at a few forums, watch LFC YouTube channels etc, only ever seen one fan regularly critise Kerkez so adamantly.
So we have Song/Isak. Asian/Kerkez. Me? MacAllister? Bingo/Slot (can understand that one to be honest). Anybother agendas missed?
Reminds me of those Davici/Henderson days (I started the first of those threads, wish I hadn’t!). Or who was it always blaming Lucas?
I actually don’t understand blaming players this season when they are clearly not being used correctly. Even I admit MacAllister is a good player in certain roles, just usually not how Slot plays him.

Threeps, i know we’re not on talking terms, hope youre well and had a good start to 2026.
Im sorry you feel like im the new vabeckenhart, daniel1975 or lucasdlegend… and I know you blame the tactics, obviously that plays a part… but being a premier league seasoned pro i expected him to hit the ground running. You compare him to frimpong and you can see theres a night and day difference in talent. Hes always passed the ball back to van dijk, rarely gets his ball into the box, doesnt offer any kind of attacking threat and defensively hes always on the wrong side of the player or switched and having to dive into make up for his mistakes. A return of 1 assist and 1 goal adds to my point.
But theres no hate towards the player, i sometimes feel hes overawed playing for liverpool and the shackles are on… similar to curtis.
Hes still very young and if you look at my previous posts when hes played well ive given him credit for his performances. Him and konate have too many mistakes in them this season and i believe thats a major area we can improve on unless he steps up, which hopefully he can.
Regarding Macalister, you were right hes been chasing shadows for most of the season and has been easily bypassed. Maybe hes scared to get injured before the world cup, who knows?? Going by this season, there is reason for him to be replaced with a more mobile and stronger player.

13th March 2026 at 10:15 am #241362Ginger, your weak defence of the highly-injury prone Isak is amusing, because the facts prove otherwise. This season alone, he missed 10 games injured, even before his serious injury.
And he’s definitely going to get injured again, and miss his customary 15-20 games injured every season, just watch.
But worst of all, we stupidly overpaid at least £45m, for him. To me his price was £80m Max, or we look elsewhere – what exactly was Ricard Hughes smoking?
One player however, who is not injury-prone is HUgo Ekitike, over 6 seasons since 2021, he’s missed ONLY 18 games injured. Basically in six seasons, he’s missed about the same amount of games injured, as Isak misses injured every season.

Exclude me from this list, as I have no agenda against Isak.
But I definitely have an agenda against Hughes overspending almost £50m on him, a deal that should NEVER have been done at that price. That is not how you succeed in business in the real world, just paying any price you’re quoted, when they’re suitable alternatives available at half the price of £64m e.g. Gyökeres.
Is Isak really that good to be worth double the price of Gyökeres? Absolutely not – just compare their stats for goals, assists, games injured over the last 5 seasons, and you’ll find the answer there.

13th March 2026 at 10:47 am #241376But Isak has barely played and when he has it been in a team that’s tactically a shambles. Based on what he did at Newcastle I’d say he was overpriced but is far better than Gyökeres who qas a bit of a flat track bully in Portugal, rarely stepping up against actual worthwhile opposition.
Kerkez has improved as the season went on but do we need reminding how Slot used him at the start? The most dynamic attacking LB of last season was inverting and being used in build up play. If Slot wanted that sort of player we should have gone for Hincapie or Hato.

13th March 2026 at 11:48 am #241379Gyökeres is not that good, very physical player that bullied defenders in Portugal, playing in Portugal and England is not the same, you can´t compare their strike rates. You just have to have a look at Nunez, he was tearing it up in Portugal.

See, what you’ve done there is either completely ignore or misunderstand the point I was making.

13th March 2026 at 12:31 pm #241383The ONLY thing that worries me about Isak is his groin.
Had issues initially with it in 23/24 and it never really seems to have fully gone away.
Even Eddie Howe, at the time, says it’s something they just manage.

13th March 2026 at 1:55 pm #241386Ginger you should know by now that you are only firing songman up by disagreeing with him.
Then you lads should stop arguing with each and just agree with my fucking agenda against Slot. 😅
Every argument you guys are having is a result of poor decision making by Slot.
We are getting to the end of the season and he still does know how to utilize the squad.
Every game is the same with nobody showing up in midfield.

13th March 2026 at 5:22 pm #241393Gyökeres is half the price of Isak, yet has better stats long-term then him, up to now.
And I bet, that going forward in the PL, Gyokeres will definitely have better goals, assists and (crucially) availability stats than Isak.

You’re not making any point, just going around in circles, trying to defend the indefensible.
Trying to find excuses to defend one of our worst transfer mistakes, being ripped off by Newcastle for £45m above the logical market price. Isak is certainly no Mbappe, Kane or Haaland to justify such a ridiculously, exorbitant price.
A player who consistently misses 15-20 games injured per season, over the long-term, is an injury-prone player. You can’t dress it up any other way.

Absolute nonsense, the facts prove otherwise, why ignore facts?
Gyökeres has 15 goals and 2 assists in 39 games this season, so he can definitely deliver in the PL.
And for comparison, Ekitike has 16 goals and 5 assists in coincidentally, the same amount of games, this season, so far.
So this myth that Gyökeres can only shine in Portugal is a fallacy of the highest order.

14th March 2026 at 7:04 am #241402@threeps “The most dynamic attacking LB of last season”
See thats the problem… i dont see that in him. What i see atm is another moreno, without the talent. Where would you rate him against our other 4 fullbacks this season?
you can ask pretty much anybody on our board if theyve seen anything that might fill them with confidence for kerkez… throw ins? Crossing? Dribbling? Passing? Crossfield passing? Defence? Strength? Tackling? Aerial ability? Linkup play? Chemistry? Shooting? Ball control? He had a good season last season but we didnt see him play each game(well i didnt)… it could have been a flash in the pan season for him! I honestly thought he was about 5ft 6” was shocked when someone mentioned he was taller than robertson.
To everyone on the board.. has anyone been impressed by kerkezs talent or seen something that shows us we have one of the best leftbacks in the premier league?
Threeps you made a point about macalister, which i said you were right this season (not blamed tactics, team, etc)… i hope you prove me wrong with kerkez too.

14th March 2026 at 1:44 pm #241408Interesting throwback in Moreno. There are individual players down the line where you patience is unable to hold zero tolerance and Moreno was one of them. Kabak too, my god.
On the other end of the scale, when I for example was crying out for more of Insua and where right-backs mattered, Warnock and Flanagan, I didn’t get my wish.
Kerkez for me is far from those realms. He’s signed at the time of lots of things that have happened from different directions.
And this is one thing I can say hand on heart is that it’s not solely one player to single out. Van Dijk I have thrown lots of criticism in his direction more than any other, but this is definitely a collective responsibility.
