Nil, let’s stop all this nonsense there is not a post from me or anyone else on here that has told you Liverpool “are not going to get anywhere or win trophies” as you are trying to claim..

As banjo and I have just been discussing there is every chance that this City side could dominate the PL for a period given the strength of the current squad they have, the financial ability they seem to have and if Pep extends his contract as seems likely. If that gives you a problem that’s a shame but it also gives everyone else a problem too!

    I’ll say it!! 🙂

Pool might win a cup or two but they’ll never win the Prem with Herr Brenda in charge! It’s got nothing to do with Fenway, Herr Brenda just doesn’t know how to defend.

Nine havent United have blown more than that kind of money in the past couple of seasons and are still playing pretty average football. I’m beginning to wonder whether mourinhos style of football is numbered? People want to be entertained as well as win things. Also I think it’s fair to say 99% of fans would jump at the chance of their club receiving a massive cash investment including Spurs. You won’t find a bigger bunch of hypocrites than football fans in general imo.

I also have to agree Klopp defensively appears to be a bit of an amateur. And that is not Fenways fault really.

Big J, very true mate, we’d all be loving it if our clubs were in your Jimmy Choos, rather than our Clarks Bargain Bucket!! But along with the trophies, snide comments are to be expected (I reckon you’ll all cope though!).

Didn’t realize Maureen has spunked more than Pepe, bit of a waste if so…..

How can United fans moan about City or PSG,or any other team spending big bucks when we have spent nearly if not more!.Everybody seems to have “forgotten” the likes of;Darmian-£16m,Blind=£16.5m,Rojo=£18m,Fellaini=£27.5m,Mata-£37.5m,Lindelof-£32m,Pogba-£89m,Martial-£56m,Lukaku-£75m,Mikhi-£40m,Herrera-£36,5m,Depay-£26.5m?!.Not including “cheap” players like Ibra on a Bosman but costing £300k p/w,Bastian costing “only” £5m but again on massive wages of circa £300k p/w.And despite all that money,we are still left with only 2 world-class players in DDG and PP,but a 1 man-team on the pitch, without Pogba we create nothing, where so-called big-game-players Mata and Mkihi go missing completely!

Nil-In the EPL mate there is a chance City will dominate for the next few years but, there is a chance,a very-big one, that a Leicester City will do it again! Rest assured of it pal!

Jim, there definitely seem to be some rumblings from the United fans about the quality of the football being served up and Mourinho is in a tough place at the moment given how well his “noisy neighbours” are playing under Pep. I still think Mourinho will eventually get it right and that United are the biggest threat to City going forwards.

Chelsea and City had to play catch up with United when their new owners took over and despite the criticism of the money they’ve both spent I think it had a positive effect on the PL and had Abramovich and Sheikh Mansour not come along United would have turned the PL into a one horse race much like the SPL.

I understand the envy from opposition fans towards both Chelsea and City but as you rightly say we’re those opposition fans offered the same opportunity of rich owners taking over their club 99% of them would want the same for their clubs, which is borne out by Chucky’s honest response and what the majority say on the Liverpool site elsewhere.

The problem now though is that the level of investment that Abramovich and Sheikh Mansour put into their respective club’s back then will be very hard to repeat under the current FFP rules which the new President of UEFA is seemingly looking to beef up further. Cheers 999

Goldie… UEFA are going to “beef” up the non-existing and completely ignored FFP rules? Having a giraffe mate, April 1st isn’t for months!!

Going back to the snide/jealous comments, of course the have-nots are jealous of the haves, only to be expected, and the only thing we have is banter!! 🙂

And no, “Leicester” isn’t going to happen again.

I’ll say it now if a club other than YooUtd, City or Chelski win the League in the next 10/15 years I’ll be amazed and the Mars Bars will be on me.

Sorry Banjo, not with you there pal.Anything is possible, like the overpaid girls of any team could easy be “bored” of anything, and decide not to turn=up for the games, thus allowing a team not expected to win the title, but motivated,go all the way!

banjo, whilst I get your disbelief, the UEFA President seems to have the bit between his teeth on this one but time will tell.

Current rules allow new owners a bit more leeway in their first season of ownership but I doubt we’ll see another Abramovich or Sheikh Mansour in the PL again.

To be fair to UEFA they do have PSG under current investigation for the Neymar/Mbappe deals and they have heavily fined clubs and reduced their CL squads previously but the proof of the pudding…….

Some fans think they have a divine right to win games and finish top. I hope we do have more “Leicesters” in the coming years as well. Why cannot fans just enjoy a football match?

Goldie…. fining clubs with loads of money is just a way to topping up the beer and doughnut fund, and I do believe City suffered the indignation of only naming 23 players in their squad one year, which in the grand scheme of things really didn’t feel like a punishment to me, perhaps a City-lad could shed some light on that and if it genuinely had an effect or not.

In simple terms, they had FFP rules, then theyøve been chipped away and contested so many times nobody really knows what the rules are, with all the special dispensations. I would love to be surprised, but I reckon the next set of “rules” are going to be just as confusing, with the same results as last time (which was nothing!).
