Turned into a proper player has Szobo but, personally, wouldn’t choose him as captain. I look for those most vocal when the chips are down and only see VVD and Ali as the leaders in those moments.

Potentially 3ps. Allison is definitely a very good shout which I champion. This doesn’t solely have to be about Dom and it’s just ideas being brainstormed amongst us which is all good because it’s important.
It makes us now appreciate in better Henderson and Milner of which I was a fan of both on this very particular element.
Mo likely to leave, and VVD won’t be around for too long either, so a new guy needs to be earmarked READY. Whether Dom, or another ‘candidate’!!!

Szoboszlai is already the Hungary captain, since 2022, no reason why he cannot be Liverpool’s captain, when the time comes, if Slot deems him to be the best candidate for the job.

Btw, there are 8 current Liverpool players who have captained their countries, a disproportionately high amount for a club, namely:
van Dijk, Robbo, Salah, Endo, Bradley, Szoboszlai, Konaté and Alisson.
Only two of them, Szoboszlai and Konaté, are in the prime of their careers, with several years left at Liverpool, if they do indeed remain at the club.
Excluding Bradley, of course, as he’s too injury-prone and not even a regular starter when fit.

No he’s not, according to who, and what stats? Szoboszlai is clearly better than Wirtz, and more important to Liverpool, plus he’s currently our player of the season.
Even Ekitike has had a much bigger impact at Liverpool than Wirtz, so far.

well you have to add up for his mistakes as well and he has cost us plenty times this season, for every wonder goal he has scored he has then made a freak mistake at the back.
I would argue that our best player is still Salah, Wirtz is close 2nd and then Szoboszlai

Wirtz in fairness to him and putting into Context, this is his first season. He’s definitely now more established that he first was. He was raw and of course, fans had their doubts; naturally with one of the reasons being his PRICE TAG.
He’s like a Phillipe Coutinho to me. Dom on the other hand is more of an All Round Footballer and he has in fairness to him proved his versatility.
There’s just one or two characteristics we could work on; although it’s nice to be able to see in nature those traits exhibited but I’m sure with the right coaching mentally and more time and experience, we could see a Future Liverpool Captain.

Let’s see who’s voted our player of this season then, and it’s going to be Szoboszlai, easily.
As for Wirtz, of course the best way to compare him against Szoboszlai, is when he’s played 2 or 3 seasons at Liverpool. But currently, he’s nowhere near the level of Szoboszlai, who can play almost anywhere, and has already played this season at right-back, No. 8, No. 10 and on the right instead of Salah.
Plus he’s the fittest player at the club, and the best free-kick taker in the league.

If Szobo would not lose his concentration every other game you guys might be right about this season but for every goal he has scored or assisted he has made a diabolical mistake at the back for every other goal or assist. Take away his set pieces as well and then all we got is work rate left which is not that bad.

In fairness Bingo he’s not a right back so mistakes are expected at the back. Like the Man ciry goal playing the city guy onside. A full back would expect to be in line, he’s a midfielder playing out of position, not the same.

Bingo, that appears to be a strong selection of words there mate on Dom. Are you absolutely sure of this?

Dom’s at times has had to play at Right-Back and I’m sure of not his personal preference but an instruction highly-likely from Slot.
Instances of Hero-Zero one can be felt as hard done by ala Manchester City. I would be inclined to agree though on his casual style versus Barnsley.
Perhaps this is falling into a bit of an accentuation and we’re all can adopt an attitude towards a player who may have left more of a negative impression than a Positive!

yes but he is also making those mistakes when in midfield, Gerrard even came out and criticized him for it a month ago or so, during that period he scored a goal and made a mistake that lead to a goal basically every match. He is prone to become to nonchalant and over confident in his ability, especially when defending. It´s not something that should be happening with a player of his talent. If that would click for him he would be world class but he is not yet. I still say give him that contract he is asking for, 250k is fair in todays game for player like him. He is still gonna get better I think with more experience and especially if he actually aims to take the armband here. Cause he is actually one of the few future candidates we have for it but he needs to cut out the mistakes before he takes up a leadership role at the club.
