Somewhat cringe thread title. He’s a very good player in very good form, but threads like this give our fans base a bad name.

Would like to point out that when Wirtz signed and questions were asked where does he play must replies I saw on TT or elsewhere said he takes Szoboszlai’s spot. I didn’t, I said you cannot lose his intensity from the team. Glad to see some of you starting to agree now.

Rumours his national coach has said his dream is to play for Real Madrid. Source is one of the Pro Madrid outlets who probably release something pro Madrid about every top player in form.

3p’s Dom’s definitely Dom in his natural midfield position. He does take a lot of flak which is needless. He shouldn’t have had to play right-back in my view, so the subject of tactics/selection/playing positions choice rightly mentioned by you guys on here has been critical.

We got it right for the first time and felt like a Klopp team.

I think Szobo just wants another contract that reflects his new status as a key member of the squad, I think it is more likely that Mac Alister will leave in the summer to Madrid than Szobo. That Hungarian coach does not speak for Szobo but Mac himself has talked about playing for Madrid.

Best player we have though is Wirtz, Van Dijk might be the most important one and Salah has always been the best player we have had but Wirtz is changing that.

Sean on paper that’s our best midfield but Slot has Grav going forward to its not exactly right. You can’t give a proper.answer without mitigating some of the evidence due to Slot not setting the team up correct.

Szoboszlai, Wirtz and a strong DM with positional sense would be my 3 midfield if we continue with that. If Grav sat like last year and MacAllister forward a bit more it would be much better. I think at least one of these is off in the summer.

We need some sort of a ‘starting point’ of the main man and that would be somebody with presence, some form of charisma and others being able to respect and look up to him. Somebody too with spirit and a little bit of fight and passion.

Those two in Dom of fight and passion are in slight lacking, purely with him being or seemingly being mild-mannered.

If one sees this in a team, that inspires another. Kerkez, then Wirtz. Gradually, this should give a domino effect to the rest of the players throughout for a Winning Machine.

Well his agent has had something to say about the Madrid rumor. Absolutely nothing there to suggest the lad wants a move to Madrid. He just wants a new contract at Anfield.

Dom’s season could further in the Cl and the FA Cup. His currency in turn will appeal to Real. Nature of the beast, but he’s head is screwed in the right place

He wants 250k to sign a new contract and I think that is fair in todays game, he does have a number of admirers, I bet most of the clubs around Europe would want him. Juventus, Milan, Inter, Bayern, PSG, both Madrid clubs, Barcelona. He would fit in with any of them but he knows life is good at Anfield, he is a real candidate for the armband even. He would not get that privilege anywhere else and let´s not forget he does have a Gerrard tribute tattoo so I´m not worried about his future just because the Hungary coach mentions that he has dreamt about playing for Real Madrid. I think it´s very likely that his agent squashed that rumor on command of Szoboszlai. Cause he knows that the armband could be his if he plays his cards right. Who could possible pick up the armband when Robbo leaves, it´s not likely that Robbo will stay beyond the summer. The only other candidate I can think of is Salah but he could also leave in the summer. It´s too soon for Jones, even though I do like how handles him. I still love him for that red card against Everton lol

Dominik Szoboszlai is one of my favourite ever Liverpool players, endless stamina, super versatile, a deadly shot and a free-kick genius all rolled into one. Easily the best midfielder in the Premier League.

If the best ever winger in the PL, Mo Salah, says Szobo is one of the best players in the world right now, you better believe him. Game recognises game.

He’s just as good as Gerrard, and may even end up being better than him, time will tell.

And he’s the next Liverpool captain, if we don’t sell him for a record fee to Real Madrid.

Gerrard was an exceptional player, one I doubt Szoboszlai will ever be good enough to emulate, but the much inferior player Henderson was the better captain.

3ps, with a heavy heart, I’d be honest and say that’s the area of characteristic lacking because he seems a real nice guy. Otherwise, in other ways such as owning areas of responsibility, he’s fine and a brilliant example for others to aspire to.

Klopp described Henderson as his lieutenant on the pitch. The guy to ensure and enforce the players do what the manager is telling them to do. But also to spot issues themselves and take responsibility to sort it out quickly. As I said, a brilliant captain.

Pretty sure professional players don’t look for a team mate to aspire to. I’ve not seen much from Szoboszlai to suggest he’s captain material. A good player in great form yes, but that shouldn’t mean anything when dishing out the armband.

I don’t agree with that 3ps. Players can look up to other players and learn from them and aspire to play or be like them. It may be through admiration. Nothing wrong that.

It seems you’re determined firmly to detract one aspect of Dom which I’m trying to Champion on here ala the Thread. He can be a Captain can he not? And He is right now one if not our best players on the pitch.

Best player does not equal captain.

You just need to look down the history of Liverpool captains and you will realise they wernt always the best player on the pitch during their time.

That doesn’t mean Szobo cant/wont be captain in the future.

Henderson was the ultimate captain, cause it´s not just about giving directions to other players on the field, it´s also about making them welcome. When Gerrard and Carra wore the armband it was a fifty fifty whether a new player managed to settle.

I still see Szobo as a candidate though, Robbo is leaving in the summer so we have a armband ready and its either Szobo or Salah really.

I don´t see us stacked in the leadership department, Van Dijk also just has 18 months left on his contract, Alison has the same amount left on his contract albeit we do have a option of a extra year from him. Salah might also leave in the summer.
