Football doesn’t matter, its his wife and kids that matter and his parents too that have lost two sons.

3rd July 2025 at 11:46 am #220970Another very sad indication of how fragile and fleeting life can be at times. An absolute tragedy for his wife, kids, family and friends. RIP Diogo Jota.

3rd July 2025 at 1:04 pm #220977Spent the morning reeling and in shock. Goes to show how fragile life is and that we must enjoy the moments we get every day.

3rd July 2025 at 2:16 pm #220979A gifted player on his day and just a likeable bloke. Very sad, just days after his wedding too, and leaving behind three little kids. His poor parents have lost two sons. Devastating. We will remember him, and honour him, and sing his song at Anfield. Diogo Jota, forever 28, YNWA.

3rd July 2025 at 3:44 pm #220990Blacky67, absolutely true. A former Store Manager I worked for tragically was killed in a Car Accident back in 1999 at the age of 29. United fan and one of the best I worked for. Today sort of took me back.
You never know what’s around the corner and it’s reported the whole purpose of Diogo’s journey was to board on a Ferry as he had chest pains which meant he could not fly back to the Uk.

3rd July 2025 at 9:26 pm #221005Woke up this morning to the terribly sad news about Diogo Jota and his brother.
Even though I became a grandparent for the first time three days ago, today I have hardly been able to think of anything other than this tragic event. And to leave behind a new wife and three children.
You cannot even begin to imagine what they are going through, not just today but in the weeks, months and even years to come. Thoughts and payers are with them.
Whenever we played Liverpool, the two players I feared most were Salah (obviously) and Diogo Jota; you just knew he would score against us. RIP Diogo and Andre.
I must say, Arne Slot has a wonderful way to express what we all feel, not just regarding today but every time he speaks._____________________________

3rd July 2025 at 9:32 pm #221006A completely heart breaking day.
Just married.
Three kids.
28 years old.
My boy was crying during lunch today.
So, so sad. A tragedy!
Rest in peace Diogo and Andre.
Your family will never walk alone, that’s for sure._____________________________

4th July 2025 at 5:30 am #221012Apart from being a top level footballer he was also a very good gamer and rose to no 1 rank for Fifa and ran an Esports team.
One of my favorite stories about him was the time he was playing an online game of Fifa 22 but had to cut it short to go play an actual game for Liverpool. I can picture a face of surprise when his opponent read the message!

4th July 2025 at 10:14 am #221019After a fairly morose 24 hours to reflect on things, the irony of his original song lyrics just hit me square in the face:
I see a bad moon a-rising
I see trouble on the way
I see earth quakes and lightning
I see bad times todayDon’t go ’round tonight
But it’s bound to take your life
There’s a bad moon on the riseIf only someone had seen that bad moon on Wednesday night…..

4th July 2025 at 5:10 pm #221033I just don’t believe anything like this has happened to an active player who’s high profile and has a very young family and wife.
This is from all my years of not just football but other Sports too. It’s usually been somebody retired, somebody sort of elderly, somebody with a health battle or somebody fighting their demons.
Diogo was just Topz and possibly as joint with Luis Diaz my fave two Liverpool Players.
Talksport with Cundy and O’Hara last night really did present a good show.
Ultimately right now, I just can’t think of any pre-season football, or transfers. Just feel really sorry for his Children, wife and Parents.

4th July 2025 at 5:13 pm #221035From a Chelsea supporter, but more importantly a lifelong Football fan, my heart goes out to the Jota family with respect to Diogo and Andre’s untimely passing away. Diogo recently tied the knot with his wife; Diogo has 3 young children and it’s totally heartbreaking for this to happen. I wish their family peace, happiness, and health in the years to come. RIP Diogo and Andre.
