Start Salah and let him try to figure out his form. Rest Chiesa to start next game.
I want the players to fight.
I think Slot will turn this around eventually, the players just need to give their all. See Arteta, Howe. They all had rough patches. At least give him the chance to do it.

29th October 2025 at 9:41 am #229334I donβt think we can really afford another loss, tonight. I get what you are saying in terms of we need a good performance, more than the win. Hopefully the improved performance can come on the weekend.
3 home games coming up, starting tonight. No idea what formation slot will try, but really donβt think the team rumoured fills me with confidence.
If slot and the team canβt get up for these home games and Iβm sure the crowd will help, then itβs not looking good.

29th October 2025 at 11:34 am #229336Palace will go strong with minimal changes.
I think we will make a lot if changes and will lose this evening
Just cant get my head around how poor we look in nearly every aspect of our play

29th October 2025 at 2:03 pm #229340Don’t understand one or two not overly concerned if we lose tonight. I fuckin am! I want to win it. Have you checked out our form over the last 6 games? Want to make that one win in seven? You’re on your own.

29th October 2025 at 2:10 pm #229341What’s more important Rob, playing crap but winning or playing well but losing?
I want to see an improvement, to see tactical cohesion. There are so many things wrong at the moment I want to see evidence that we’ve made it over the worst and are on the way back. If that happens but we sadly lose then I won’t be too unhappy.
Don’t think it will happen, especially if he rings the expected changes. Can see it being flat, slow and devoid of ideas with a complete inability to defend long balls and set pieces.

29th October 2025 at 2:29 pm #229342I think everyone wants to win it Rob, however bigger picture here, its more important to see changes which result in a better performance and not the same old mistakes again.
If we see a better performance with a coherent plan of how to play and not the same old shite then we’ve made better progress overall than playing shite again and scraping through.
I want to see progression, that Slot can fix the issues.
Let me be clear here, I don’t want to lose.

29th October 2025 at 3:02 pm #229345Sometimes an ugly win is just as productive as a handsome loss. If we play well and lose then surely we’ve just as much ‘to fix’ than scraping a win (without the bonus of victory!). Scraping a win would usually mean, defensively, we’ve done better and right now the way we concede like it’s going out of fashion, I’ll take that option. Stopping the opposition from scoring is harder to play and coach than creating opportunities, which we always do.

29th October 2025 at 3:14 pm #229346“If we play well and lose then surely weβve just as much βto fixβ”
I cant agree.
With the likes of Ramsay and Woodman etc likely to play we could perform very well with a coherent plan, players working hard and lose to a peno or something silly. For me, I would take much from that than playing shite overall with the same problems and winning.
To me that’s just papering over the cracks and not fixing what’s structurally wrong with us._____________________________

29th October 2025 at 3:25 pm #229347Winning is everything, I don’t care how we play, just win and build momentum from there for the league.

29th October 2025 at 3:27 pm #229350I absolutely see and respect your point Ginger. If we play hard without looking overly pretty and win, I’ll take it. If we play well and get beat then I’ll take the positives and hopefully we build on that. Only issue I see is if second string play lights out then there’s no guarantee we will play lights out when the preferred match day lineup is utilised at the weekend, ending in yet another defeat. The overall feeling of success tonight (throughout the squad) will greatly boost confidence and hopefully springboard us going forward. No guarantees tho, of course.

29th October 2025 at 3:39 pm #229353I just want to see us stop conceding goals. Become a solid unit
If we had enough defensive cover id start pmaying gomez at right back in the keague. We have to stop conceding soft goals and conceding numerous chances every gane. That should be our main priority

29th October 2025 at 3:50 pm #229354I fear a bit of beating tonight rob if the rumoured back 5 is to be believed
I get changes but we lose tonight and the vultures really will be out
Its really about becoming difficult to beat now and stop letting in goals
There are so many issues, i cant see them all been fixed soon and tonight could be a very difficult night
We need a good run of games with performances and results asap

29th October 2025 at 4:20 pm #229355Exactly Sean, just want to see a ‘tight ship’ tonight even it means it affecting our attack somewhat. There’s been next to zero shape/compactness out of possession and that’s what I’ll be looking for improvement wise tonight. A scrappy 1-0 win, creating chances would be most welcome in my house.

29th October 2025 at 4:52 pm #229356A clean sheet, you would imagine, would indicate some sort of improvement.

29th October 2025 at 5:12 pm #229357Correct Ginger, therefore a win!
Just don’t want anymore damn injuries. We’re quickly back on the ‘injury a week’ cycle and need a week off.

29th October 2025 at 5:47 pm #229359A clean sheet doesnβt always mean a win.
Also, if we played well and they scored in the 93rd min with a worldie to win the game Iβd take more from that than the continued performances weβve seen recently and a narrow win.

29th October 2025 at 5:54 pm #229360Pretty sure we didn’t have exceptionally high amount of injuries last season and haven’t this one either. Injuries happen, all teams suffer them, we can’t use them as an excuse for this seasons form.
Having said that I do feel sorry for Leoni who I’m sure would of got an extended run in this competition. He looked good in his only appearance.
Will Rio play? Not sure he’s ready for a full 90 but has looked lively coming on late against tired legs.

29th October 2025 at 6:33 pm #229363Rumoured starting XIβ¦
Woodman
Ramsay, Gomez, Robertson, Kerkez.
Endo, Mac Allister, Nyoni.
Chiesa, Morrison, Ngumoha.
If true, and Iβm by no way convinced, I donβt fancy our chances.
I also suspect itβs meant to be Chiesa thru the middle._____________________________
