Forget about today, the Premier League is the toughest league in the world, so any team can beat any team.
Now let’s crush Chelsea next week.
At least Ekitike’s back.

27th September 2025 at 6:26 pm #227461Agree Songman, lots of perspective and to be fair, we’ve ridden our luck effectively from our 5 matches going into this one.
This time last season Forest did this to us and we then became solid.
Nothing to be too disheartened about losing to a team who themselves came into this unbeaten.β½οΈ

27th September 2025 at 7:10 pm #227463Wirtz cost Β£100 million, has played 6 league games this season and has 0 goals/assists. We sold Diaz for Β£65 million. Was this good business?

27th September 2025 at 7:45 pm #227465Wirtz is for the future.
Not just the immediate games.
Diaz was turning 29 and wanted a new contract we werenβt prepared to offer.
Having said this, and Iβve said this before, I think Wirtz should have been eased into the team to let him get used to the new league, team mates etc etc.
I donβt think he needs to start every league game just yet._____________________________

27th September 2025 at 7:51 pm #227469Wirtz is a full international and was billed as a generational talent. Ekitike has hit the ground running and is also young. Why does Wirtz get a free pass, particularly when he cost a lot more? I always start to get concerned when being a told a player βneeds time.β I can think of barely any situations where itβs been said a player needs time to improve and they actually have done.

27th September 2025 at 7:53 pm #227470Desperate for Wirtz to grow as ai love the guy. Just need to figure his best fit.
Can take time sometimes with new players so going to need patience π

27th September 2025 at 8:16 pm #227471Mikus, if Luis DΓaz, the best left-winger in the league last season, was playing today, we would not have lost. Similarly at right-back, Frimpong and Bradley have not (yet) had the impact that Trent had.
As for Wirtz, he’s a top player who should come good at Liverpool, but as I stated all summer, no young German player has set the PL alight before (apart from maybe Havertz) so a word of caution paying so much, Β£110m, for him.
He just needs some goals and assists to get his confidence up, sooner rather than later

28th September 2025 at 12:39 am #227495Well that wasn’t worth staying up for.
No point singleing anyone out, apart from Alisson they were all pretty terrible. Our balance hasn’t looked right all season, and the knock on effect is we can barely pass to the next man at times.
Wharton head and shoulders the best midfielder on the pitch today.

28th September 2025 at 9:22 am #227505Ye ginger but frimpong was terrible in tuesday and yesterday along with a host of others and i blame him and kerkes for their winner
Kerkes has been poor in a few games. Maybe its tactics as he seems to be under lapping rather then over lapping.
We have seen games like that many many times were we have been absolutely battered but hung in there and got points. Southampton twice , newcsstle, brighton to mention a few.
We just look so fragile and easy to play againest. We will win nothing with amount of chances and goals we concede.

28th September 2025 at 11:24 am #227524Sean, you’ve summed up what I’m thinking mate. Every match nearly we’ve shipped in goals.
We just don’t click as a defensive unit. The multiple changes to the first team clearly affects us because each individual needs time to get up to speed.
This league is tougher and cut throat. Even our home games. Slot really needs to grip and own this and not bury his head in the sand.πΆβπ«οΈ

28th September 2025 at 11:33 am #227529Mikus βI can think of barely any situations where itβs been said a player needs time to improve and they actually have done.β Well you have a prime example in gravenberch.. firminho was the sameβ¦ and hopefully chiesa will step up this year too! give wirtz time, you can see the talent and whatever the case hes improved the squad from last year!
Your point about luis diaz is correct, he was one of our elite players and when fit for a season big things normally followed!
Not seen the game but its good to see no overreaction from our fans! Somethings not right atm, the balance needs tweaked to hopefully continue getting results! Been a shite week with leonis news and now the loss! Chelsea will be a tough ask⦠hopefully if we win there.. we are back on track!

28th September 2025 at 12:28 pm #227536Palace have only conceded 3 goals all season so far; next best to the Gunners with 2. They’ve been on a long unbeaten run and we were so close to coming away with a draw.
Hopefully we can have a bit of a helping hand from Newcastle a little bit later.
