Really like Conte but isn’t he a bit unhappy because of his family still being in Italy? Isn’t that one of the biggest problems?

Its a tough job with many enemies and all alone with family being in Italy. Could be his homesick would mean his intention is to go back to Italy asap.

No actually Conte has confirmed that his family is living with him in England. I think the problem isn’t about home sickness. its about power struggle behind the scenes. Conte wants to have more say in who comes in and who moves out. but the club is reluctant to give him that power. and with good reason as they are mindful about the number of talents that we lost cheaply under Mourinho when he was given powers. but i still think Conte is our best pet and we should trust him Nilly-willy. its pitty that all of this is happening to manager who knows what is he is doing. give the man the control and he will stay.

I think the problem is about the transfers. it has nothing to do with home sickness or whatsoever. sometimes you will see Conte moans about transfers. i don’t think if it would be like that if Conte was given full power to buy players he wanted and sell those that he deems surplus. hopefully common sense prevails and Conte is kept beyond 2019.

This problem is all about having more control on transfers I would imagine the rules on transfers in and out at Chelsea were agreed prior to Conte joining Chelsea and he accepted them.
But then he won the PL, Chelsea offered him a new extended and much improved contract but with the title win in his armoury he pushed for a much bigger say on transfers and ultimately the stand off on transfer policy meant he signed a deal for the improved contract without the extension.
It’s got nothing to do with his family as they have been with him from this season.

Both sides need to give a bit on the transfer situation but I’m not sure they will and if Conte doesn’t sign an extension I think he will leave by mutual agreement at the end of thieves axon with only one year to go on his current contract.
It’s all very Chelsea.? But all very frustrating for Chelsea fans.?

Just give him full control. I think Klopp now has the majority vote and it certainly helps.

I think the club has a valid reason to be skeptical about giving him 100% full control. as we may recall the last time we did that under Mourinho, we lost Salah, Lukaku, De Bruyne. and when you lose those kind of talents, you will understand the backlash that the club faced from the Media and its own fans myself included. so i would understand if they are reluctant to give the manager full powers to buy players as well as dispense them at free will. I think consulting him when we need a player and giving him the final say when we are selling/extending contract will not do any harm. in order to keep our current manager. personally i’m in the opinion that the Club needs to fully give him control about who he wants and who he doesn’t. with that the Manager will have full authority in the dressing room. imagine if a player know that its not the manager that has signed them, but the club? do you think they will have 100% loyalty for the manager? that has been the downfall of many of the recent Chelsea managers, and Conte is fully aware of that.

Sean, you’re spot on and that should be the compromise Conte confirms the areas he wants too strengthen and his priority choices the DOF and his team of Scouts put a list together inc Conte’s priorities and it then comes down as to who can be secured at half sensible prices.

His wife apparently is not happy living in the UK and is homesick! She gave an interview recently an said she is missing Italy and wants to go back.

Mav, not sure where you got that from I’ve not seen anything from Conte’s Wife giving an interview and saying she is homesick and wants to return to Italy.
Where’s that come from?
I can’t believe if it’s from somewhere that is a credible source because if it was from a credible source our media would have been all over it.

Mav, as I said I’ve not seen it or heard anything about it and more importantly none of the media have picked it up over here and run with it which they surely would have had it been a proper interview with direct quotes do it sounds a bit spurious to me mate but I think Conte will probably gone in the Summer anyway.
Sooner if Conte doesn’t do something quickly about 3 nil nils on the trot!?

Conte only wants total and full control on transfers. And i agree with him. But this is getting annoying stage. The club should either give him what he wants as he earned the right. Or else they should prepare the man to take over from him. And i hope that is Carlo and not Simone. I don’t want another manager who is not settled or feeling home sick. Allegri could be that sort.
