Wow, Liverpool got such a group of death. AM are a team that we always struggle against but to then get Milan as the crazy 4th seed… This will be so difficult to qualify from.

I think Liverpool will top their group without any problem. Athletico are not the team were in the years gone by. and Milan is not the force they once were. so if I was a Liverpool fan I would be delighted with the draw. of the four English teams, United got the best draw, and City got the toughest, followed by I don’t know who to pick between Chelsea and Liverpool.

A positive to take would be that the teams in our group are capable of taking points off each other so it will be tight.

Young Blue, you’ve not watched Liverpool Versus Atletico though, where-as we have. They are Klopp kryptonite. As for Milan not beign what they once were, well a long time has passed sibnce we last played them. They did however come 2nd last season in the Serie A, which is on it’s way back from some pretty dark years.
I’m not complaining, as such but we’re definitely up against it here. Ya, we’ve definitely got a tough challenge here. There’s one shining positive thing from this though. If we can get out of this ,group, we likely wont have to face AM again until late on in the competition. I can tolerate them in a group stage because we can get our points from the other teams, but I;’d rather not meet them elsewhere, if it can be helped. I’d honestly prefer to play any other team in the competition than them in a KO stage.
I guess this is why Im uncomfortable with the Milan being here. If we had drawn Porto and a weaker side, you’d say “right, there’s enough points there for the AM matches to not matter”. City’s group is pretty tough alright but I’d trade with them, were it not for what i said about not having to meet AM later on and let some team who isnt directly countered by them, knock them out for us 😉
As for City, this is a good way to avoid PSG in the early KO’s also. You lads can KO AM for us and we;’ll do PSG for ye and meet you in the final ya? 😀

AM are a team who’s gotten the better of us each time we’ve played them. Milan are a resurgent 2nd place Italian side. Us 3 must fit into 2 places and then there is Porto, who are admittedly going to be someway off the main 3 but would you say they are guaranteed 6 points? It will be disappointing and perhaps defining, if we were to not win both games but that’s as far as Im going with that.
Might not be a group of death for the other supporters but this is a Liverpool group of death. Also, Am are not just a Liverpool counter, they are the current Spanish champions.
1st from La Liga , and recent 2 times runners up?
2nd from Serie A – recently in from the dark ages, massive CL history
and Porto, who are admittedly not in a real league but they are still Porto. Im happy to draw them. they might take valuable points off the other 2 .—–
On the positive side of things:
1)We cant meet AM immediately in KOs, we also have a chance for learning how to beat them.
2)Getting drawn with Milan is kinda special. As Mikus said, our first meeting with them outside of a CL final. Having fans at Anfield for this will be INCREDIBLE._____________________________

Am are an absolutely horrible side to play and every bit as good as they were a few years ago. We should have battered them at anfield but Adrian made some terrible mistakes. Horrible game but I’m fully expecting to go through .

About time Utd had a decent CL group. Villareal caused both us and Chelsea problems so that’s an awkward tie rather than a difficult one. Emery builds solid teams. The others shouldn’t pose too much problems but you never know with Utd, especially against sides who sit back.
I think all the English sides will be disappointed to not top their group. City have pretty much the same group Utdhad last year albeit fortunately a PSG side under Poch rather than Tuchel and likely to be no Mbappe. Leipzig lost both their CBs too so are not the side they were last season.
Liverpool should have too much for their group. AC Milan are poor. Madrid could cause them problems but Porto should be 2 wins. Chelsea should be topping that group. Juventus will be stronger under Allegri but Chelsea should have too much for them.
