A fantastic performance by Liverpool, problem with Barca they rely on that guy too much. He was trying to go through the whole Liverpool team by himself cause he knows the others are no longer up to standard. Can’t see either Ajax or Spurs beating Liverpool.

Last night was just one of those special special nights. When Anfield is like that it’s a magical place.
This is what makes football special. I really thought our season was over.
I didn’t even cheer the 2nd goal as I really thought they would dcore.
We looked so tired on sat yet produced a performance like that last night.
Barcelona really were not up for s fight. Early goal was perfect.
Now let’s hope we get our players back for the final.
Moos disagree about Ox. He was coming ok leaps and bounds under Klopp till he got injured. We have missed him

another great game to watch for the neutrals and liverpool deservedly through over 180 minutes and the loss last week though unfair in the scoreline makes this win al the more special, of all the clubs, Liverpool seem to have these “Special nights” more than most, fair play to them and i hope they go on to win the CL (not supds please) and who knows, they might even get a very special double…..

What a game Liverpool! Fully deserved. I even metioned last night that I believed they had a fighting chance if they scored within the first ten minutes. I should have put some money on it! 😀
Congratulations to Liverpool and their fans here. Well deserved.
Mav: Barcelona do indeed look fucked. They need a major overhaul. So many over the hill players. And the worrying bit for any Barcelona fans must be buys like Vidal. Why buy a midfielder on the wrong side of 30, when you already have older guys like Pique, Busquets, Messi (even if he’s great), Alba, Rakitic and Vermaelen? Not taking anything away from Liverpool, but it looks like the end of an era for Barcelona.
Who would you Liverpool guys prefer in the final? As a neutral I’d say Ajax would make the better game, as Spurs seem to be a tired team by now.

Sean, that’s it man. Barca rested the entire team for this match. We were run ragged by Newcastle, in their own difficult stadium. We looked really tired then and I thought it was just too much to ask for.
I don’t know if i said it last night but it’s been some amazing 24 hours for me. I was cleared of diabetes in the morning (blood test results said I didnt have it, after some suspicions and previously being pre-diabetic).. still a fat bastard but seems the exercise is doing the trick!
Then Liverpool. I mean, I don’t want to annoy the lads on here but that was the most special Anfield night of them all. That beats Chelsea, Juve, Dortmund etc etc. It’s was more special than them all.
I’ve rewatched the highlights many times. Macca was struggling to keep his emotions in check as co-commentator. He was getting caught up in the moment big time for the 3rd goal.
Seeing all these positive comments from the neutrals is honestly brilliant also.
I will say though, we can’t call the final just cause we’ve come through this insane task. Anything can happen on a given night. I will be taking whoever we get very very seriously. I desperately want us to win it this season.
I said it last night i think (somewhere) that this makes letting go of the PL (almost certain) a lot easier to stomach. If we can finish with 97 points in the PL and to then win the CL, I’d be just annoyingly happy. I would probably start blubbering like a schoolgirl.

Danish/Viking baconmuncher-It is indeed an end of a era @ Barca & Real:Pique,Alba,Vermaelen,Vidal,Rakitic,Busquets,Suarez and Messi-all need replacing,needed for a couple of years now! Even Roma spanked this Barca team last year,after losing the 1st leg 4-1!

You know me , I’ll never get carried away. Final will be very tough no matter who we play.
We can just enjoy the next few weeks. I totally admit this will soften the blow of losing the pl. I will be able to enjoy Sunday knowing that we have another chance at a trophy.
Of course if we lose the final it be devastating but it was gone for me. We were out last night so the final to look forward to is brilliant

Mav, buying deadwood like Vidal is something United would do. Like buying Schweinsteiger. By the way, when will clubs learn that Bayern only sell players not good enough for themselves anymore? Barca have been great, but this is the second year in a row they throw away a three goal lead in the CL. They need almost the same rebuilding job as United.
What’s “annoying” about Liverpool is that they are winning in style with a few homegrown players and some really good buys – someone who THEY make worldclass like Salah, Firmino, Mane, VVD. It’s almost as if the United way is now the Liverpool way. Fuck me that’s depressing to let sink in! 😀

Sean, ya man. It breathes new life into our “failing” season. Ridiculous to use that word but ya.
I am now looking forward to the final PL match. I wasn’t before. Our season doesn’t hinge on some ridiculous City slip up anymore. It won;t happen and now i think Liverpool fans won’t mind. As you say, that changes if we lose the CL final but the piece of mind that we get until that time is so valuable.
We haven’t won anything yet but we can dream again.

You look at Bayern, Real, Barca, Utd, Milan etc. Historically huge clubs and all needing huge investment. Will be lots of money changing hands this summer across the leagues. Utd will massively struggle to not only get top players due to having only EL football but also due to loads of competition from other rich clubs.

I certainly wouldn’t write Spurs off tonight,once they sorted out their tactics last week they were much better and they were without Son last week too which they won’t be tonight.
I think we’ll get more of a contest in the Final if Spurs were to get there but whoever gets there are going to find it very difficult to beat this Liverpool team now.
Spurs have looked understandably tired of late but if they get to the Final they won’t be tired as the Final isn’t until June 1st.
Both Semi Finalists will be worthy opponents in the Final but if Spurs were to get there I think they would probably be the more difficult opponent as well as Ajax have played to date in the CL.
Whoever gets there let’s hope for a spectacular Final.
Be suprised if Livetpool don’t go all the way now and lift the trophy but if last night told us anything it is that in football anything is possible so you just never know.

Nine to be honest I wouldn’t like to play spurs
We had two really difficult games againest them and they really should have won at Anfield.
I haven’t seen to much of Ajax but I’ve seen plenty of spurs and they can beat anyone on their day. I think they will go through tonight.
It’s a final. Anything can happen. No matter who we get in the final, it’s going to be very tough. I enjoyed last night and still an today but there’s one more game to go and we need to win the cl now
