Threes…I can understand his thinking, of course it will not always be successful, very much dependent on the players he has. His strategy has always been fluid football and it does work, he has the titles yo prove it but when a team goes through its cycle and has to re build a little this will upset the plan. In saying that, we are doing OK and any City fan should feel confident in any game they go to, something we have lacked for many years

Pep’s is a pretty devastating philosophy Brian. They are still the best attacking side in the league in my opinion as their “goals for” suggests. And you now could still easily finish the league with around 85 to 90 points which wouldn’t be a bad return for a supposed mini transitional season. And would £80 million on Maguire have made a worthwhile difference for that money? Think he was right to stay clear of him and rely on his own team’s strengths and adaptability of other players and save the money for later. It says a lot that the clean sheets are stacking up at Liverpool again since their two quickest CBs are together again in Gomez & Van Dijk. Such speed is a pretty important attribute for a CB these days. And Maguire ain’t got that.

Having lost Kompany and not buying a Centre Back in the Summer Pep might have got away with it had it not been for the really bad injury to Laporte. I expect City to be quite active in the transfer market this Summer as they look to try and win back the title.

Mikus…I said from the outset that Maguire would be no use to us, he is not that good in my opinion, we need better. I still think he will let Stones go at the end of the season unless he improves on performance and fitness I also have a serious doubt about Fernandino, even if he stays, he will be used sparsely he has done a great job for City but I just wonder if the legs will carry him again next season at this level. The only ones I feel sure about are Ederson,Rodri Laporte Augerro Bernado Mahrez Foden Garcia Zincheko, maybe,Gundogan Jesus Mendy Cancelo On the way for different reasons Otamendi, Sterling Stones, Bravo Walker Silva
Just my opinion, no inside knowledge. Pep will be using this time to line up replacements. I do see three youngsters being permanent members of the squad_____________________________

And what about Sane. We really could do with keeping hold of him – real game changer and better than Sterling when his mind is on it. However, imo, he himself is set on a move back to Germany (BM). I just hope we don’t let him go for peanuts, £80m minimum.
As for replacements, I’m like you and have no idea – we just have to trust Pep to make the right choices as he has previously, in the main.-

One thing I think you can be sure of is that Pep won’t be sitting on his hands this Summer in attempting to reclaim the title and will throw whatever he thinks necessary at it.
Hopefully that will result in a competitive title race because I can’t see any of the Club’s under both Liverpool and City being ready to challenge for the title next Season and a one horse race is very bad for the PL.

Sean I would be hard pressed to find a better footballer than David Silva, anywhere, Frank Swift will always be my favourite but he was a keeper so keep it to outfield players it has to be Silva just ahead of Bell. he plays with his head up, knows what is happening around him and is a tough little player

I was a bit disappointed with City’s performance to day. Silva Garcia and Otamendi the only performers. The rest went through the motions which is not good enough for me and I am sure Pep will have wanted better. I am not saying that it should have 6/7 goals against 10 men but the manner they played, sloppy passing going forward too many balls the receiver had to stop or run back for. We need to “up” our game and quality passing again

Gi Blues If you go on the City Official page then on to the Citizens section, you will see it there. There is a months free trial on the new City website, subscription after a month £1.99 but it looks good value to me. The david Silva film you will be able to see for free on the months trial basis. They also will cover all City match, full match video, shown about 2 hours after the match I think but that’s OK with me
