Chelsea are only 2 points behind city and 8 behind Liverpool

    That’s not many at all.

67, I must admit that thought crossed my mind too and we could have Kante back for the weekend too if not young Billy Gilmour won’t let anybody down in the deep lying role. Also Jorginho could do with a little bit of a rest too.

Some very kind comments from our opposition friends on here it’s a bit confusing tbh because as Chelsea fans we’re much more used to “No one likes us everybody hates us think I’ll go eat worms”.😊

I do think something very special might currently be happening at Chelsea and we’ve probably not seen anything quite like this since the Class of 92 which is a very hard act to follow.

But everyone is intrigued to see where all this might go under Frank and Frank and Jody are very likeable guys too and because of that maybe attitudes towards Chelsea are changing a bit.

It’s great to be succesful and hopefully that follows but it’s quite nice to be liked and respected for what Frank and the lads are trying to do too!😊

Kind of agree with both CM and Moos.

But if Kovacic can add that killer pass and a goal or two he would be the complete midfield player.

I guess the ultimate accolade you can pay him is that Kante hasn’t been missed as much as most Chelsea fans feared he would be.

This confirms Chelseaman’s earlier post today. “He struggled at the start of the season but now looks like the player I watched at Everton last season – and it’s still a young partnership, him and Tomori. He’s shown good leadership to help his mate,” Jamie Carragher

It won’t be easy for Rudiger to just come back into the team as good as he is.

Nine, it’s not just what you’ve mentioned above but also from what I’ve seen when playing against Chelsea. Other sets of supporters might have to be reminded that we’ve played eachother 2 times already this season, not just once. Now, I’ll preface this by saying that our defence isn’t quite what it was last season, teams definitely get more of a look in than they did before but it’s still really good. My guess is that Klopp has sacrificed some of that defence for control of the game. That said though, I could see from the first game that Chelsea had quality. Maybe after the 4-0 against Utd, I just wasn’t expecting much, so it was really highlighted for me. It was the same in the PL match and I can see only Man City making us hold on at the end like ye did. Sure, away games can be a bit like this but my heart was in my mouth.

Not just that either though, it’s the young players who’ve come through and not just done alright, they are some of the PL’s top performers. I think this must be the thing that draws most neutral fans in. With the Chelsea – Liverpool rivalry being pretty much dead (Nil, we know man, we know :P), that makes it a lot easier for us Liverpool lads anyway.

Personally, I’d like the top 4 to finish the way it is. I mean I was going to say the order doesn’t have to be the same but you lads know who I want top. It’s good to see the underdogs in there (Leicester) and the new project who are so far thriving as a result of restrictions imposed. Didn’t someone once say that restrictions are the heart of creativity, or words to that effect?

From watching that clip, I see bits of Xabi Alonso there.

Re Lampard, isn’t it fantastic listening to a post match interview which is interesting and makes sense. I used to walk away as soon as Conte and Sarri woffled on about trivial, irrelevant and repetitive garbage week after week.

Everything is going rather smoothly after an uncomfortable start. The team is pressing up and all over the pitch. A downturn in form will come, it is inevitable with so many young players. I think that’s when frank will earn his corn. It will be interesting to see reactions after a few more losses or draws… defensively hope we tighten when rudiger and Kante are back full time. But after 11 games, starting to get a good vibe.

The litmus test will be when everybody gets used to this new Chelsea team, if/when anybody figures out how to play them. At the moment it’s all very new to the league. It’s all looking good for now, for sure, but time will tell!

City away after Palace at home. That is a little scary but having said that we weren’t too bad in the two matches against Liverpool. Hopefully though both Rudiger and Kante are on board for that one 🙂

Chucks… yep… It was interesting to read Watford Managers talk to his players. Basically, if you leave the school gate open, the children will run amok…. Probably quite apt. Its a team with large energy and developing a personality. Any player who joins up with the squad will have to be on exactly the same wavelength. Sort of player who would thrive would be Mbappe… Its that sort of player Chelsea need to target before they become a megastar to fit in with a side thats wont everything at junior levels. Anyone else think Calum Hudson Odoi looked a little cheesed off to come on in the last ten? good to see imo… everyone is hungry to play.

Also, thought ex Chelsea boy Mr Chalobah had a very effective game, Three lions will beckon if he can stay injury free and play like he did as Southgate rates him.
