Chelsea back in the day

I was just thinking from thinking about Kieta, Michael Essien which brought to light just how many good quality players Chelsea signed a good 10 even maybe 15 years ago.

Maybe this was widespread but I wondering overall whether the Premier League boasted more quality players then than the current climate.

A few of them signed too under Jose: Cech, Tiago, Carvalio, Del Horno, Makalele, Ferrara, Gallas, Essien, Shevchenko, Drogba, Pizzaro, Roben.

What an array of players back then.
