Liverpool, Napoli, Salzburg & Genk…I’ll take that.29th August 2019 at 6:01 pm #46642
Good draws for both City, Liverpool and Spurs imo not quite as good for Chelsea but it could have been a lot worse.
Bring it on!
Good to be back in it whatever happens along the way.😊29th August 2019 at 6:01 pm #46643
Reckon Spuds, Liberools and Moneybags are all right, but Chelski’s group could be a tough one. You should, quite rightly, fancy them to go through, but I reckon they’ve got the toughest job of all.29th August 2019 at 6:02 pm #46644LuckydestinyBlocked110 pts
I think all the english teams will be in last 16, good draws for all I think.
Valencia and Ajax are good sides but 3 nice short trips for chelsea to france, spain and holland.29th August 2019 at 6:03 pm #46645
Good for you Scott, I doff my cap!!29th August 2019 at 6:22 pm #46648AnonymousInactive366 pts
Alisson and Van Dijk taking down keeper and defender of the year but the overall player of the season doesn’t seem to have been announced yet? If I’m wrong and you lads know, you might say so thanks.
nine, as for creating a whole other thread, it really would only be a few messages and then done. was a good idea earlier I think but too late now to be useful, in my humble opinion anyway.29th August 2019 at 6:27 pm #46649AnonymousInactive366 pts
As for the groups, I’m very pleased with ours.
Its generally quite straight forward though, teams to go through :
group G is a mistery alright
There are a few groups where it is down to 3 alright but it’s very straight forward for the PL sides, except MAYBE Chelsea. I see them coming through it but they were dealt a tough one.
Before the draw, I asked for short flights and we got that. We also got a very favourable draw in terms of quality of opposition. As a seasoned CL viewer though, I know to be a little wary of apparently easy groups.29th August 2019 at 6:33 pm #46651

The away trip to napoli will be hard, just hope our league game afterwards is at home.
Otherwise happy with the draw 😎👍🏼29th August 2019 at 10:01 pm #46665LuckydestinyBlocked110 pts
Forget the draw and VVD, here’s Cantona’s speech in full:
“As flies to wanton boys we are for the gods, they kill us for their sport.
“Soon the science will not only be able to slow down the ageing of the cells, soon the science will fix the cells to the state and so we will become eternal.
“Only accidents, crimes, wars, will still kill us but unfortunately, crimes, wars, will multiply.
“I love football. Thank you.”,
Pretentious sod, its not even that smart I mean, who wants to live forever? Freddie mercury couldnt figure it out so damned if I know, but I sure dont, the thought of having to listen to nonsense like this for eternity?29th August 2019 at 11:40 pm #46668AnonymousInactive366 pts
I would like to have a body that didnt age . i think everyone would. Thats not the same thing as living forever but ya.. as for what Cantona has to say, TBH I long stopped listening to what footballers have to say. This isn’t their strong point, as they are usually not the smartest people. Their experiences are too removed from a normal persons .30th August 2019 at 7:07 am #46674
no real “group of death” in fact it all seems a little to…. sanitized, im not sure i agree with the whole not allowing to play teams form the same country till later rounds though obviously helped british teams last year….30th August 2019 at 7:52 am #46677
Smack in the face with a kipper!!! Another “hear, hear”!!! People are going to start talking about us!!
All a bit boring really, no real interesting groups. Hopefully they’ll be some “upsets” in the first couple of rounds, no dead rubbers…30th August 2019 at 8:15 am #46684EditorKeymaster442 pts
Cantona talks absolute rubbish but give me a character like him any day of the week over the boring lot we have today who have staff managing their social media accounts. Love the fact he’s in jeans and a casual shirt at such a posh event. Just doesn’t give a f*** 😁
Yeah pretty favourable draws all around for the PL clubs. Can’t see any not topping their group.30th August 2019 at 8:16 am #46685
OK have i woken up in a different reality ??
i need a lie down after this…..30th August 2019 at 8:23 am #46686
I still reckon without Cantona, UnYooUtd wouldn’t quite be where they are today. He was the catalyst for all that was good, he tipped them over that edge into “mega-commercial trophy winning cockwombles” that they are (or at least were until Fergie retired!). When you considered what they paid for him, he is still THE signing of the Premiership era for me… nobody comes close for VFM vs impact/success. I know they still bang on about the Class of 92, but he was Headmaster!!30th August 2019 at 8:43 am #46687
never liked him as a person, great respect as a player he has the X factor that the likes of Ibrhimovic has, the arrogance sometimes required to be at that level and have total belioef in yourself
also warmed to him in his later post football years and seems a decent and funny fella weilling to take the piss out of himself…30th August 2019 at 8:45 am #4668830th August 2019 at 10:08 am #46692
Cantona was a wonderful wonderful player who I feel privileged to have seen in the flesh on numerous occasions.
Cantona plus the Class of 92 plus SAF set United up for unprecedented success.
He’s obviously slightly eccentric but he’s a character. If he was playing for United now they would have probably been in the draw yesterday.
The big question though is where did Cantona park his fruit and veg barrow last night?😊
