The CL begins again commencing with the draw on Thursday evening.
Three PL teams are seeded in Pot 1 Liverpool as CL winners, City as PL winners and Chelsea as EL winners.27th August 2019 at 1:48 pm #46439
Please let Liverpool get Leverkusen, they are only 20 minutes up the road and even if I couldn’t get a ticket (ha no chance!) I could go soak up the pre-game atmosphere.
Being in pot one obviously has it’s benefits, but those 3 English teams could still end up in a group like this:
RB Leipzig27th August 2019 at 1:57 pm #46445
threeps, yes it all depends who comes out if the other pots with you. Hope you get Leverkusen for your own personal enjoyment. Cheers 9’s27th August 2019 at 2:00 pm #46446
Be great if Chelsea drew Real. Hazard would get a massively positive welcome back and Courtois would probably be bombarded with stuffed rats as he was at Atletico when he played there for Real.😊27th August 2019 at 2:51 pm #46456EditorKeymaster442 pts27th August 2019 at 4:13 pm #46463AnonymousInactive366 pts
I just hope we draw teams with reasonably short flights.27th August 2019 at 5:21 pm #4646429th August 2019 at 4:37 pm #46616
Agree Mak although the Champsion League is always better for short trips than the Europa. There you can end up drawing against Dynamo Timbuktu or whoever and having to cross 18 time zones.
Ideal group for me:
Short trips for the players, fairly weak opposition, and importantly good drinking for the fans.
I don’t think any English team should really be in fear of anyone, including either of the Madrids from pot 2.29th August 2019 at 4:45 pm #46618AnonymousInactive366 pts
Threeps, just for you man, I’ll have my fingers crossed for Leverkusen too… but if they knock us out, you’re taking the fall 😛
Ya, the Europa League can be desperate for the long flights, didn’t we have Moscow in that comp? Christ.
Anyway, do they award the Player of the Year trophy at this also? I really really want to think Van Dijk wqill have a chance but I just think I may be lying to myself and that bloody Messi, who couldn’t do a thing against us at Anfield, will take the trophy as himself and Ronaldo pretty much always do. Ronaldo hasn’t a hope in hell but ya.
I really do think Van Dijk should get it though. He’s the best CB I’ve ever seen.29th August 2019 at 4:56 pm #46619
Fair enough Mak.
It’s the uefa player of the year today I think. The fifa one is later and the biggie, the Ballon D’or is in December29th August 2019 at 5:04 pm #46620AnonymousInactive366 pts
I always mix these things up, cheers man. Either way, let’s hope Van Dijk takes it . I mean, that might get people thinking about their votes for the ball on dor. we can dream 😉29th August 2019 at 5:06 pm #46621
