Lucky, I can’t see Liverpool doing much mate. Word is the money will go towards new contracts for a few key players. Konate money has been recouped already through sales
I can see shaquri going next. I think we will buy a midfielder and that’s it. Injuries are the worry. I’d keep Philips as without a doubt Gomez and matip be injured again.
We have a heap of players who miss chunks of most seasons. Alison misses a good few games for a keeper. Thiago, fabhino, Gomez, matip, Henderson, keita and ox all miss far to many games
Can’t see us challenging this season.

Malen was a winger at Arsenal when he was young but he can play either as part of a two up front or wide according to what I’ve read.
Transfermarkt describe Malen as “attack – Centre-Forward Foot:right”
Tbh I don’t think it matters what I’ve read consistently is that Dortmund wanted to get Malen over the line so that if they did accept a big bid for Haaland it wouldn’t effect the Malen price. Time will tell.
Irrelevant to the above it will all come down to whether Dortmund will sell Haaland for more that twice as much this Summer as they will get next Summer and only Dortmund know the answer to that.

Malen played pretty much every game as centre forward last season only a few appearances as a winger and no goals or assists in those games but 15 goals and 7 assists in 28 games as centre forward

United have made some obviously good signings but I still believe they need a proper manager. Solskjaer is a coach not your proper manager, yes some like Pep, Conte and Klopp, and also Mourinho to an extent do the double act but some can’t and often end up getting sacked, Mourinho is an example.

Gone are the days when numbers were indicitive of what a players actual position is.
Lucky’s post above seems pretty clear as to where Malen played most of his games last season let’s see whether it impacts on Dortmund’s views re Haaland business wise it makes sense for Dortmund to cash in this Summer on Haaland but I have my doubts they will.

United are buying well I think they will have a very good season.
Agree with Lucky, Liverpool will be up there again this season providing key players are fit and stay fit and they replace Wijnaldum.
City will still be the team that everyone needs to finish above to have a chance of winning the title and they’ve yet to strengthen?
Crowds back will help “everyone”!

Varane, assuming it goes through, is a massive statement of intent. Makes a nice change to see a club take a player from Madrid for once, rather than the other way around. Madrid very much wanted to keep hold of Varane (even offering him the captaincy in a new deal) but obviously didn’t want to lose him on a free. 10 years after Utd thought they’d got Varane, only for Zidane to nip in at the last minute entice him there, Utd look like getting their man. Reports suggest Varane voiced his desire for a new challenge after the 2018 World Cup but was persuaded to stay by Zidane. Could help explain his somewhat patchy form since then.
In Varane and Sancho, the whole “Solskjaer won’t be able to attract top players” thing can now be firmly put to bed. I’m not suggesting those players came because of Solskjaer but it was often suggested that top players would no longer be attracted to Utd while Ole was there.
I think Utd have a defence and an attack capable of mounting a strong challenge. Big question marks remain over the midfield still and the GK positions. Whilst Utd have 2 good GKs, I’m not convinced they have 1 great one and they desperately need to make a decision over who will be the number 1. Question marks remain, too, over Ole and his ability to lead a side to silverware but it is undeniable that Ole is building something special, regardless of whether or not he is ultimately the man to lead them to the next level.

Ed, it be something special if he pulls off the cl or pl but that’s a brilliant starting 11 on paper. It really is and it’s the best side utd have had in a longtime .
Utd are an absolutely massive club and the name itself has a huge pull. Pressure is on him now. Millions spent. He has to deliver something this season but that’s two excellent signings.
