Ginger, respectfully I disagree somewhat but you made many valid notes.
There is NO doubt that Alisson still has it and streets ahead of most keepers still.
My worry is apparent nervousness when in possession and his distribution accuracy.
Now, the team has changed and Mark at the Academy told me when I was there at Xmas that the distribution zones he had under Klopp have changed slightly under Slot but Mark did mention that his training methods incorporate more body mgmt/muscle mgmt to try and curtail more hamstring injuries in particular (3 now in 2 years and 4 in 3 resulting in nearly 60 games missed in 2.5 seasons).
Is Alisson’s issues this season in possession justifiable to jettison who has been arguably the best keeper we’ve had and the PL has seen, nope, but my previous note mentioned a nod toward eventual replacement (35 next season).
Forward planning.

20th March 2026 at 11:48 pm #242137Rob whenever he has been making those mistakes and it was not even a mistake, it was a very intentional pass that got delivered straight back to him, he is full of confidence. He has always made a mistake or two but he also always redeems himself by shutting down the goal, I donΒ΄t trust anyone as well as I trust him with one on ones. When someone slips by both Konate and Van Dijk. When in form there is only a 25% chance for the striker! The club has maybe had one better keeper in its history and truthfully I donΒ΄t think they would stand a chance against him! His level of footwork and distribution is always top notch, he both got assists and a goal for the club. Quite a few assists and even more chances created. Grobbelar would be a deputy for him. We need to go further back and that is before my time.

21st March 2026 at 6:25 am #242140Alisson is thr best Liverpool keeper in my life time in my opinion (Clemence was before my time).
But we have to face the reality that he is both aging and becoming more and more susceptible to injuries. That last hamstring seems to really affected his kicking, maybe it’s a physical issue or maybe mentally he is concerned. I’ve played sport, obviously not at that level, and had some horrible injuries, it really makes you nervous going full throttle again!
Marma isn’t the answer. Said it when we signed him it made no sense other than a profit making exercise. He’s an absolute bag of nerves with the ball at his feet which is a major issue for any elite team that likes to play possession football. Not been that impressed with other aspects too, for a big lad he doesn’t impose himself. I see him as a much lesser version of Donnarumma, who I also don’t really rate.
Anyone to replace Ali? No idea. Any suggestions let me know, looking for a replacement in my FM 26 save!

21st March 2026 at 9:52 am #2421463ps, Perfect Post and Completely Correct.
I researched incidentally on Jaros and didn’t realise he was injured and he’s currently on the sidelines.
I have criticised Kelleher in the past, but the difference between him and Marma was that he was ready to Step in when he needed to be.

21st March 2026 at 11:35 am #242150Sean I think we are playing the diamond, in fairness to Gakpo he is wasted out on the wing and I think his last goal came when he was upfront in this formation.

21st March 2026 at 11:48 am #242152I really hope szobo is not at right back.
If we play the same formation as Wednesday with the diamond in midfield and 2 up front in Gakpo and ekitike it should be ok. Frimpong and kerkez to provide width.
Szobo can play the right of the diamond and maybe interchange with Grav and Mac.
In reality itβs a 4222 or even 352 with Grav dropping into defence and then a 442 in defence.
This might be the long term formation when Isak is back to play with ekitike.
We have to plan for the long term without Salah and maybe without the 433 weβve used for so long. Maybe this is why Diaz was never replaced with a like for like player?

21st March 2026 at 12:22 pm #242154Well, the prodigal son has been re-selected and Wirtz is left according the BBC Pages layout; 4-2-3-1. But the plus point is Ekitike is kept faith by Slot from last Weds.
We are facing our very good former Pro Mr James Milner, so huge Respect to him.
Would just love us to win this afternoon. Looking at those league stats is depressing, so we need an UPLIFT!!!

21st March 2026 at 12:22 pm #242155Could be the box midfield again with Ekitike and Gakpo up top.
Or could be 4-2-3-1 with the 3 of Gakpo, Wirtz and Szobo behind Ekitike.

21st March 2026 at 12:23 pm #242156redwarrior, I did not see Gravy dropping deep, the lads in midfield kept it so tight against Galatasaray, they kept that box shape at all times. IΒ΄m hoping to see that again, IΒ΄m not that worried about the offense or defensive side if the lads keep their shape in midfield. They ate up every second ball, there was no way through them while they kept it so tight.

21st March 2026 at 12:44 pm #242157Weβll need to win this game in the first 70mins coz the lads ran their legs off the other night and will tire massively last quarter.
