The fact that Gakpo is starting fills me with hope that it may be his farewell appearance too, along with Mo and Robbo. Really can’t see how he can earn it on merit.

Each to their own and I for one will obviously miss his goals, but the sheer level of sentiment coming from social media, you’d think Liverpool Legends never existed. I even heard a fan call him the Greatest Liverpool Player. This guy has to be in his 20s.

I’m definitely not feeling it as it was always Mane that I more fanatical of.

All in all, lots of fans I would imagine are probably not in that headspace and frame of mind to be excited on the final day because of a really horrible 12 months.

Random fact: in 1978 in the Bundesliga last game of the season BMG had a -10 GD deficit to make up. They beat Dortmund 12-0. Makes you wonder if any brown envelopes stuff full of Deutsche Mark made their way to the Dortmund players.

Sadly for them it was in vain as Köln won 5-0 and thus the title.

I’m sure nothing weird will happen today. The football will be mundane, the crowd more interesting.
