Well done Mikus, glad you see where this started and I stand by that…this crash, it was coming.
Yes, surprisingly (i totally had that wrong as did many others) but the slip in form and attitude was clear to be seen.Here’s a question: if Klopp had lost 3 in a row before an international break, would you have expected him to go on a two week break in Dubai? Slot did!

A big part of our identity in presenting a fearful attack was the front 3. That started with the signing of Sadio Mane. This was formulated with Firmino and the Salah. When Jota and Diaz were signed, we could play 4-2-4 and there was just a plethora of goals.
I am still excited with our new and current ‘stock’ in Ekitike and Wirtz, even Isak. It’s mind boggling why we’ve descended and become disjointed like these are all bad pieces of a jigsaw. How can that be? Individually, they are reputable top players, otherwise, they wouldn’t have been signed and we wouldn’t have paid the monies we paid.
The entire management team and coaching staff need to deconstruct and re-formulate. Can we not play 4-4-2 like we did on Wednesday?
Also, like Wednesday, we need to use that strength to be able to drop players and stop selecting players on reputation.

True Mikus, but equally a bit weird too; those problems of the midfield overran have resurfaced. We replaced Henderson and Fabinho with Sobo and Macca, plus Endo. The problem for us under Klopp was that these midfielders over the course of the season ran out of fuel and we subsequently burnt out.
Remember the season before when we were Top of the Table and going for the Title? I’m pretty sure it was that season too when we exited out of the FA Cup by United and that became the Catalyst to our downward spiral in succession of losses etc.
Why has our midfield being allowed to overrun again? I saw this in pre-season where we’ve been undone by opposition by threaded balls over the top and caught out mainly on the last man mainly because of ball watching and our central defenders not doing enough, maybe because of having to supplement the gaps left by both our full-backs.
It’s not one problem, but a knock-on effect of everything else.

We spent everything on attack, even our full backs are attacking players. All our midfield players are attacking players. Gravenberch….our best 6 is actually naturally an attacking player. They all look good when we are in control, but when we are out of form or under pressure We have no balance.

Gentlemen, unfortunately not seen the game yet(sorry threeps 🙁 ) so cant really give an honest opinion or assessment.
Moonster, if memory serves me right January this year you were stating that we were gonna lose salah, van dijk, trent.. the season was gonna fall apart so no title, on top of that fsg were not gonna spend in the summer, thus seeing the demise of the great LFC. Which to be honest youve only got 1 part right which was trent leaving… now running shouting “i told you so” is a bit sad when everyone knew 1 of those players will leave. However, since youre in the “know” whats the plans for the January transfer window? Whats next for the club? You sound like my younger brother whose a complete moron…
Also whats all this bullshit i keep hearing about isak and ekitike.. we lost 2 top tier strikers and to replace them with …drumroll… with 2 top tier strikers, just in case 1 gets injured(currently isak). Its not rocket science, look at arsenal last year when havertz got injured and before that jesus.. they had no attacking players to replace them with.
Lookkng at that lineup.. theres no steel besides bradley, konate and van dijk… will hopefully see the match before the next game!

Nope, I said Salah, VVD and Taa could go. TAA did and there was interventions in the end on VVD and Salah, not once did I say they were 100% gone…but it was close in the end to all three going

Man City AwayGotta really make a beeline now for the Cups. We have 3 home matches in a row and a perfect opportunity for Slot to try and turn this slump around. Naturally down to him and the players to step up as well as us guys to try and get behind the team.
One interesting dynamic of around this time last season when Man City lost 6 in a row and their fans were just chilled. I have to say personally, it’s difficult for me to be ‘that guy’ being all emotional during the actual live 90 mins. Maybe though, it’s about taking it game by game from now on and not build our hopes too high; was really up for last night on the back of Wednesday; what a let down.

Another tactical failure Slot is the apparent shift in general tactics to a more fundamental style, as in long balls, more aggression, hurls into the box etc. He’s moaned a lot in his press conferences, almost like lighting a beacon to tell everyone what we can’t cope with.
Pep had it last season with the shift towards press bait and couldn’t adapt which resulted in 4 losses and failed title defence. This looks like Slots achillies heel.

Can’t argue with that at all 3ps. We just rely on the same Gakpo cutting inside on the left or an overlapping run from Bradley freeing up Mo on the right.
There’s a lack of variation in style. Opposing teams won’t find it hard to figure us out.

@adidas20 you would be surprised how many defensive headers nunez used to make from set pieces… not to mention his “chaos” presence and hardly ever injured. those are the small margins that have affected us this season! Ekitike and isak will hopefully get there i hope.

Fulcrum, been saying that about our midfielders for ages. Not one defensively minded amongst them bar Endo (who’s only ever been used to see games out). Staggering the club didn’t resolve this.
And with the league going even more physical, and with us buying more nice technical attacking players, it’s as though we’ve put on a Hawaiian shirt just as everyone else is donning their winter parkas. It looks ridiculous.

@asiansensation I didnt say anything that most didnt know, so glad we agree.
As for Diaz, who did predict a move to Munich? As we all knew though Diaz was making waves to leave and I mentioned that many times, so did others, it was an open secret.One thing I mentioned loads, was the slicing up of the squad…it happened. I also mentioned the lack of respect to players, and the contract situations. Konate is no closer to signing, and our player are being tapped up behind the scenes.
The meeting this morning expressed some major concerns on the pitch, mostly about application….or the lack of it. Take it for what it is, or dont believe it, but Slot was the focus and under major pressure for the disharmony of the squad.
Believe it or not, no matter to me.As a said note, how many sung from the rafters that Rio was going to be the big thing, lorded so much that he wsnt allowed to go on loan…and look how hes been stuck on the bench. Another player you could add to the ‘no so happy’ camp.

Asian Sensation, fully agree mate. Nunez was a handful for the opposition but it was often his finishing in the easiest of positions that let him down.
And agree re Isak and Ekitike they can come good. At the moment, they’re not gelling as a unit. It’s been at times dysfunctional. It’s down to our coaching and management team to solve this.

Diaz had his heart set on only Barcelona, if not then r.Madrid! Whats all this “slicing of the squad” we lost 3 first teamers(luis, TAA and jota) + Nunez who wasnt really in slots plans! We replaced tsimikas with kerkez, wirtz for harvey elliot, frimpong for trent(knowing we already had Bradley as his replacement), leoni for quanshah.. so weve not really sliced the team, just that players are out of form or not settling!
Rio got us 3 points against Newcastle, he will get minutes and hopefully stepup to be the next big thing! He would have never got that at Chelsea.. yes he would love more game time but atm the teams to blame for him not getting much game time.. you dont want to blame a 17 year old for your woes!

@asiansensation I said at the end of the season that this team was going to crash, I was called many things, so think cos I disagree, im a troll.
Fact is, many sat and accepted the decline at the end of the season and thought the new toys would change it….but it hasn’t.
So, im sorry to have pointed this out to those who were blind, but it needed pointing out.Your saying slicing up the team…I said the squad, completely different. But, either way, once cohesion has gone, its gone. Also, all those that left, why did they leave? Majority because of the way they were treated, they were unhappy…again, this is happening to the squad and that clearly can be seen in the performances.
Anyway, I’ll be quiet for a while as to not upset those fragile ones…but im right.

When it comes to players, I think we miss a prime Fabinho type.
Then, we need a clear idea of how to play. Feels we’re experimenting too much all the time. Then the attitude from the players. So disappointing.
