I expect us to lose this one actually… team definitely hasn’t turned any sort of corner this season and we’ve dropped points in matches we should have won, and I expect the same this time around.

If De ligt isn’t back then i can see us dropping points here as well. Also think Maguire is a big miss. Before the international break we were playing better at home i think. Everton fiasco definitely knocked our confidence. West Ham result was annoying. If we can beat Bournemouth though i think we’ll be well placed again. Realistically i expect us to finish above Palace as they have a very small squad. Chelsea and Villa pose a bigger risk but unless Liverpool find themselves again we shouldn’t be finishing lower than 5th this season.

Bournemouth aren’t as strong this season as they have been in the last couple, perhaps losing their entire back four has had an effect. This is very much an audition for Semenyo, even if we’re not going for him he’ll want to prove what he can do against a ‘big club’. I think if we can run at them we might be able to score but that’s unlikely and the hopes of us keeping a clean sheet is equally unlikely.

Well it won’t be Monday then because they are both definitely out yet again! Maguire in particular has now overtaken Lardy Luke, and if there really was any crazy notion of offering him a new deal then this latest in a long line of Slabhead injury absences must surely put an end to it.

Less than 3 days to the game and the club still doesn’t know whether their 3 African players will be available or not, which is just a fucking disgrace. This was one of the main reasons that I was dead set against buying Mbuemo, and we should never touch any African players with a fifty foot barge pole from now on because this is going to be a recurring problem every two years.
I wouldn’t mind, but even the Africans themselves show little appetite for this shite tournament with the grounds barely half full, they are all far more interested in watching the PL games instead._____________________________

I think all the clubs are effected in a similar way. Mo Salah is in the Liverpool squad for their game against Brighton apparently. Hopefully we can keep Mbeumo and Amad for our game on Monday.
Then we have to hope Cameroon and Ivory Coast get knocked out ASAP!

Well you reap what you sow in the end because they’ve spent 70 million quid on a guy who’s potentially going to miss 8 very important matches playing in this poxy tournament every two fucking years. Moral to the story is, don’t pay fortunes for African players when the squad you have got cannot cover for their absences, especially when they are not exactly world beaters in the first fucking place!

That puts Semenyo off the radar too so. Lots of English players are declaring for the country of their parents or grandparents. It’s going to become a problem for teams who buy young English talent and all of a sudden they’re off to play for Nigeria in the AFCON every two years. If anything FIFA needs to put pressure on them to move it to every four years same as the Euros
