Ginger youre correct, we replaced 2 strikers(darwin and jota) with 2 strikers(ekitike, isak). Dont know what the fuss is all about and why everyones questioning it? Thats the price you pay for top strikers.. isak was bought in for 70mill⦠was one of the elite strikers in the league last season, Newcastle are not gonna sell him for £80 mill are they?
Im still annoyed we never signed a defender last window, as we were haggling over the price⦠englands number 1 defender for £35mill, just get the job done! If they had, we might be a few points from top!

7th January 2026 at 12:29 pm #235914Using the logic of others….
Its fine we didn’t/don’t sign Guehi, or any other centreback….sure Endo or Gravenberch can play there.

7th January 2026 at 4:04 pm #235933Arne Slot on Rio Ngumoha
βHeβs an exciting prospect, but unfortunately for him, he has one of the best wingers in the world ahead of him, so itβs difficult to find minutes for him.β
I guess that world class winger Gakpo will keep him out of the squad then for game.

7th January 2026 at 8:00 pm #235952Just an observation from watching another match now: (once again! π) what’s struck me is the lost ability in READING the game. We had very certain individuals that were Super and ever-present at it. One forgotten man Joel Matip; remember him?
And somebody celebrating just lately his 40th Birthday, James Milner (his goaline clearance). We’re missing players of these traits that we PRIDE on and are a loss to us.
Brighton so far have simply READ City and given back some of their own. β½οΈβ½οΈβ½οΈ

7th January 2026 at 8:16 pm #235956Matip was by far Virgil’s best partner. What I’d pay now to have a young and fit Matip back there.

7th January 2026 at 8:58 pm #235973I miss Matip, one of the most underrated players of the recent decade, best free signing ever if it was not for James Milner. I still think the partnership Van Dijk had with Matip was a bit more balanced than the one he has now, they had be a partnership. ItΒ΄s a little bit one dimensional with Konate, where he gets bossed around more to go for the first header and then Van Dijk sweeping up but that has a lot to do with the injury Van Dijk sustained, he is not as good as he was before the injury. He lacks that recovery pace and tends to back off players more now than he did. He used to enjoy matching the forwards pace and knocking them off the ball, now he tends to back off more and invite the shot. Gomez also in his prime was some player for us, he backed up everything Matip and Van Dijk did out there in his prime. If he dropped down to a less physical league he would excel again.

7th January 2026 at 9:16 pm #235982An observation Jamie Redknapp at half-time on Sky made re pointing out United’s fault in not raising their intensity.
He was clear in the same breath that it was not about United’s System.
It makes me think and Reflect straight to us as a Parallel.β½οΈβ½οΈ

7th January 2026 at 9:44 pm #236008that comes as a surprise, I pay no attention to United as I donΒ΄t consider them rivals anymore lol. I would not mind seeing the results end like this though.

7th January 2026 at 10:46 pm #236036Getting down to Business: Arsenal now on 48 to Manchester City 43. A Win Tomorrow will take the Gunners 8 Points Clear. An Emphatic Win Psychologically makes them feel 10 feet Taller.
Elsewhere, a 4-3 for Newcastle. Soft Spot for Leeds and that’s Heart-breaking considering they were at one point 3-2 up.

8th January 2026 at 1:01 am #236041Just goes to show how tough this league is⦠watched the man city game and they are no different to us⦠hardly carved out chances besides Brightons gifts in bringing the ball out. Defence was suspect, midfield wasnt up for the battle and they can thank their lucky stars that they didnt lose.
All from a team who spent £300mill net in 2025 and are on the verge of spending 65mn on semenyo and probably another 30 mill guehi⦠and we have people complaining about our summer window! We need to keep acquiring the right players just to keep up pace with our rivals⦠hoping to unearth some gems from our youth academy starting with nyoni and ngomuoh!

8th January 2026 at 9:34 am #236056Asian Sensation, got it in one mate about the League being difficult. Football’s changed over time. You’re easily sussed out.
I do read online about how ‘rubbish’ or ‘poor’ the League is, but they’re not explaining their perspective. Isn’t it better if teams can take points off each other each week, or do we prefer like a Celtic-Rangers or a Barca-Real Madrid?
Not gonna lie, but the battles between City and Liverpool ala 97 and 92 points were the best ever even though on both those occasions we finished runners up. I liked the Title Race going into the last day. There’s still 5-0s but not that frequent.
There’s teams that go through more frequent changes in Managers and Players. The most settled of teams are Arsenal and probably Villa reflecting in the Table as to where they are. Pep I think struggles to find a blend and a formula and he needs players like Foden, and Haaland on Fire every week.
It’s unpredictable I’d say and wide open π

8th January 2026 at 9:39 am #236057Feeling actually more positive about Tonight’s game than a few days again. Flash-Forward Dominik Szoboszlai with his hands placed on his face, but even a defeat of such nature won’t feel as bad and a Total Humiliation.
I think we’ll have a fight at the very least of our own. Sitting 4th now and after last night’s results, the players will take encouragement out of that.
Just gotta find a way of sniffing out Arsenal’s rhythm.
