I would be very surprised if Arsenal sold their 19 year old youngster who was their best midfielder in CL final and many games before that, TO US?! Would love that! They will sell Zubimendi and keep MLS. Hope I’m wrong though.

This is the result of having too many people making a decision and having to agree about it… Berrada, Wilcox, Vivell and Carrick all have to agree on a player before he can be signed. They’ve had all through last season and the entire transfer window to identify which players to sign for whichever position no matter the price tag. If they had approached certain players since January there’s no way they wouldn’t have been able to sign them at reasonable prices.
Rodri is off to Barca and they still want to sign an extra attacker; i wont be surprised if they come back with a ridiculous offer for Long nose.

The main difference between us and the likes of City is that, in the recent past at least, they’ve given their academy players enough playing time for other clubs to realise they have some talent. Pep used to throw in one or two alongside an established 8 outfield players and they’d do well and then the likes of Fulham or West Ham or whoever would be willing to pay £30-40m for them. We seem to give none of our youngsters a chance in a team where they have any hope, it’s usually been 6 academy and 4 first team and they sink without a trace. Or else we only play the ones we’re thinking of keeping and when we, and everyone else, realise they’re not up to standard they’re worth fuck all.

@jm they gave Maguire an extension when they should’ve let him go, they tried to get Casemiro to extend but he chose to walk away, they refuse to listen to offers for Amad, mount, Shaw, mazraoui and Martinez; so there’s definitely no way Bruno will be sold.
Watch them give Bruno an improved contract.

Slightly different Dee. If we’d let Maguire go we’d have got coppers. He was our best defender last season, although I know you won’t admit it mate. To replace him would have cost the thick end of 60 million. Bruno needs to go for the good of the team, we’ve seen the best of him, plus we’d get 50-60 mill.

I advocated that Maguire should have gone to the world cup. Him being our best defender last season doesn’t mean he should have gotten an extra year… just as Shaw was solid last year doesn’t mean he should still be at the club let alone be the starting LB.
