Well I haven’t seen enough of Ederson to make a final judgement and likewise with Fernandes tbh. Agree with N1xer, mobile, energetic and good in possession but the jury is still out on both of these guys. And if I don’t know whether they’re good enough, happy sure as shit doesn’t 😂😂
So only time will tell whether this is a “great” start to the transfer window but forget Hall, I doubt that will happen. We should maybe be looking at Truffert as an alternative. Question you have to ask is are these guys going to move us to a different level? Personally, I doubt it.

3rd June 2026 at 6:49 pm #248021Well Fernandes hasn’t made the Portuguese WC squad and neither has João Palinha, guess they’re fairly stacked in DMF roles

3rd June 2026 at 7:04 pm #248022That’s the point, I don’t see how West Ham can be expecting massive dough for a guy who hasn’t even made the Portuguese WC squad. There’s actually another midfielder called Samu Costa who plays for Real Mallorca who has been picked and who we could probably be acquired for a bag of rusty spanners and a Mars bar.

3rd June 2026 at 9:27 pm #248025@Jm leave out very resident “Happy” out of it 🤣🤣🤣
@Blacky i will be checking out the Samu lad.. also i do think the Fernandez lad isn’t a DMAlso agree about Truffert ahead of Hall but Hall has a nice engine in him and defensively he can also hold his own but will NewCastle sell him to us for the quoted 50M though because they do hate us as much as the rest or even more than.

4th June 2026 at 7:54 am #248031I also like the lad Gimenez at Bournemouth, incredible engine, but he has a bit of controversy around him.

4th June 2026 at 8:51 am #248033Some good info on Ederson this season below. Form did drop slightly with a new manager which is why he’s having a summer off but still very impressive numbers in the midfield department;
“Ederson has the mobility to cover all the ground expected out of possession and, on the ball, he has the technique and nous to dribble or pass around or through massed midfield ranks. Which is just what Carrick needs from both of his deeper midfielders. For years, United have relied on a double pivot of supposed specialists, the theory being that one complements the other, but too often that approach left their engine room imbalanced. Especially when midfielders like Fred and Scott McTominay were mis-profiled; Casemiro was enduring the slump before his renaissance; and Manuel Ugarte was anywhere near a red shirt.
The clamour around Ederson was ratcheted up a few notches after his display against Liverpool in the Europa League semi-final in 2024. In both legs, the then-24-year-old was everywhere to disrupt Jurgen Klopp’s Reds at Anfield before doing the same again back in Bergamo while dictating the Italians’ play too.
Football data specialists Gradient Sports judge Ederson to have the third-highest athleticism grade (99.2) among central midfielders in Europe’s top five leagues who played at least half of their club’s minutes, with only Bournemouth’s Alex Scott the only Premier League player in the top 10.Ederson was also beaten by only Bernardo Silva and Florentino Luis among Premier League midfielders for distance covered per 90, while no central midfielder in all of the top five leagues covered more distance in sprints (8.98km), with Rice second.
In winning the ball and passing it – the two most fundamental traits of a midfielder – Ederson has been well above the average in Serie A despite lacking the relentless consistency he showed under Gasperini”.
Obviously its all just words at this stage but for £35m in this market he could turn out to be a steal.

4th June 2026 at 8:59 am #248034Happy, don’t think there is an issue with specialist players. Just the ones we brought weren’t that good.

4th June 2026 at 11:11 am #248041Fuck me happy, if I’d written that you’d say it was bollocks, because it is mate 😂😂. Once I got to the double pivot bullshit I just turned off. We’ll only know whether he’s any good when he gets out there and how our scouts can watch a guy playing in a half paced pub league and determine he’s a fit for the fastest league in the world is beyond me. Still, that’s what the club pays them for, I think 😂😂.

4th June 2026 at 11:14 am #248042I might be inclined to pay a little over the odds for Fernandes if the bubbling cunts threw little ears into the deal. We’re desperate for a covering left back given that Dorgu clearly isn’t one.

4th June 2026 at 12:04 pm #248043Last summer there was more than one top club sniffing around Ederson as I recall. Under Gasperini he was playing very well and was quite sought after.
However, this season should be taken with a pinch of salt. Atalanta made a proper pigs ear of replacing Gasperini who left for the Roma job, getting Ivan Juric, the guy who made a pigs ear of the Southampton job, before firing him before Christmas. A club legend in Raffaele Palladino was then appointed and performances improved.
I don’t know how Ederson will fare at United but this season should be viewed as an aberration because Atalanta, unusually, made a complete fuck up of replacing Gasperini.-

4th June 2026 at 12:14 pm #248045Truth is, none of us have much of a clue about Ederson, unless there are some Atalanta fans on here I don’t know about. I mean, has anyone watched any Italian football recently? It’s fucking putrid. It’s a done deal by all accounts, so the proof of the pudding will now be in the eating.

4th June 2026 at 12:42 pm #248047And for £35m we haven’t been taken to the cleaners for once. Now get Ndiaye, Matheus Fernandes, Tonali and Hall. 🙂

4th June 2026 at 5:20 pm #248057Oh Happy sometimes you do act like you have some decent brain on you and other times.. well we all know 🤣🤣🤣 .. Good shout for Ndiaye, hall, fernandes and Tonali.
My recollection of Ederson was how good he was under Gasperini especially how he handled the Liverpool team under Klopp and was able to match their pace; but as pointed by Killy his last season wasn’t much and hoping he can at least be decent for us.

5th June 2026 at 6:30 am #248098With 2 more midfielders after Ederson there might be a chance one of them are a starter before Mainoo.
I reckon Carrick will use a 4-3-3 formation. Bruno as a starter as a 10 and Ederson as a 6 depending on the other midfield targets. Ederson as a 6 is a long way from what Carrick himself played._____________________________

5th June 2026 at 10:18 am #248108As long as Mainoo doesn’t play on regular basis. And if we were to sign Ndiaye, that would mean Cunha relegated to the bench.
Dee-spot on re Scott,brilliant player!_____________________________
