Still injured/recovering from injury.
I’m led to believe that he may be loaned out in Jan if recovered enough.
He’s missed too much of the important youth development years I fear to make it at Liverpool.

Looks like it Sean, most notably Slot really wanted Luis DÃaz to stay, but was apparently overruled by Hughes.

8th December 2025 at 7:09 am #232862Mo Salah, much ado about nothing, and rather childish from him.
He will soon learn that no player is bigger than the club, and that he can easily be replaced.

8th December 2025 at 8:01 am #232867What i think you have missed there Song is it was Mo that spoke out as he was clearly targeted (by being dropped while others havent) and a lightning rod for the poor form blame (no Salah, but still no improvement…it cant be Mo then?!) and he knew he was off and his time was up, but he seemingly spoke out and for others in the group. So, as for being selfish, maybe its quite the opposite.
One thing that has been said is that Edwards had communicated to Mo a few weeks back (before being dropped) that they were planning to sell him, now the back story to that is Edwards fell out with Mo during contract talks while Klopp was there and Edwards sees Mo as one of the reasons he had to leave due to his authority being challenged.

8th December 2025 at 9:52 am #232873Reading between the lines, the only reason Salah was given a new contract was a plan to sell him in order to get a transfer fee for him.
I think Salah should have left on a high in the summer, but he clearly thinks he can still cut it at the highest level. Jury is still out whether he can. He clearly has lost some pace and can’t take a player on, no more. Last season the team was all setup for him.
Slot has changed the way the team is setup and plays and it’s all been downhill since.
I can’t see salah even being in the squad for the next 2 games and he will be gone in Jan.
Regarding Gakpo and others being out of form and still picked…. No surprise, as all managers have their favourites, even Klopp.

I’ve missed absolutely nothing Moonster, Slot is paid to win games, and it’s up to him to pick the team that he thinks is best for the job. Just like he did last season, when he won the league at his first attempt, and against all odds, and with only signing one player, Chiesa.
Time to focus on trying to beat Inter tomorrow, that is all that matters to real Liverpool fans, forget about Salah and his childish tantrums.

Why exactly Sean? He is our 2nd highest contributor, after Ekitike so far this season, with 5 goals and 4 assists – Facts
The question you should aski is why Richard Hughes didn’t replace the superlative Luis DÃaz, easily the best left-winger/striker in the league last season?
Signing Semenyo, for example, would have provided intense competition for both Gakpo and Salah, but Hughes ego got the best of him, pointlessly pursuing Isak, when we already had signed an even better striker Ekitike (in my opinion).
Until a better player arrives, I am 100%, definitely starting Gakpo in every big game.

How’s that going?
MUFC:Konate has been poor, but for 12 months do any of you think that VVD has been getting away with it?
Of course he has, and its been almost the achilles heel of LFC recruitment in the last ten years, we never have had competition in the CB spots, so much so we ended up with Hederson, Fabinho, Rhys Williams and Phillips playing CB. Players need to know if they drop of but 5% then someone’s taking your spot, currently VVD and even Konate are safe playing with their slipper on since December last year. Also, add into that, Konate getting ready to move with his contract running out…it was an obvious situation.

How’s that going?
Moonster, you act as if a top manager never experiences a crisis or problem in their career, that is narrow-mindedness of the highest order. Klopp experienced a big slump at Liverpool, and ALL other top managers such as Pep, Ancelotti and Ferguson have experienced big problems also. But they all overcame their problems to come back much stronger.
So just get behind the manager, and the team, and trying to win tomorrow’s match, instead of trying to peddle your attention-seeking, negative agendas.

8th December 2025 at 10:46 am #232886We tried to sign Huijsan, he chose Madid. We tried to sign Zabarnyi, he chose PSG. We tried to sign Guehi and were on target to do so until the last minutes of the window when Glasner forced Palace to pull the plug.
It’s not like we haven’t tried. Sometimes in football things don’t go perfect and you have to make do with what you already have.
Get Bastoni in the summer to replace VvD, not may others out there can (if he can be persuaded to actually leave Italy, apparently not keen to do so).

8th December 2025 at 11:34 am #232895Slot has never experienced form like this before, he never lost 3 games in the Dutch league, he has never managed a struggling team.
I still don´t think we won the league because of him last season, I just can´t give him the credit for doing it. I think it was the players themselves, Slot just made sure not to rock the boat until after the January window.
When he started implementing his structure on the team results started going bad, nobody can say that the squad stands with him. We got more than one senior player upset, Klopp would not let Salah take on all the criticism of the club, media etc. by himself. He would protect his players instead of letting Hughes and Edwards sell him.
I think the whole squad was left dumbfounded as to why Diaz did not get a new contract, I´ve seldom seen players perform as good when playing for a new contract and he just got sold for his efforts. That kinda transfer did not happen once during Klopp´s tenure. The only time he sold out of the first team was when he made an example of Sakho and he made a example out of Sakho for his professionalism not his performances.
Now our most celebrated player finds himself in a position where he has no backing from management, Robbo is in the same situation, Gomez is in the same situation, Van Dijk also needs to take a look at the situation as he could be the next one to be thrown under the bus. This is the opposite of team building, we are breaking up the squad from what I see.
I still have a suspicion that Slot was brought in as to be a yes man to Edwards and Hughes, I think the lads are seeing that right now, that Slot is prepared to throw any player under the bus to keep his job.

8th December 2025 at 1:07 pm #232902Moonster, I’ll stick by my claim that we didn’t try hard enough for Guehi. If we were super serious we would have gone for him earlier allowing Palace to get in an experienced replacement. We went in on the 11th hour for a top defender and international. Bad planning.

That’s absolutely nonsense, Notorious, you are having a laugh, aren’t you?
So how come Klopp couldn’t win the league with the same team then?
Slot was totally responsible, and the players of course, for winning us the league last season, his genius was using Gravenberch as a No. 6 (yet Klopp used him as an 8), deploying DÃaz as a striker (in several games), playing the same team in most games and deploying unique tactics like 424. most notably away at City.
This narrative being spun by the media, and even some stupid pundits, that it was Klopp’s team that won it, and Slot doesn’t deserve it, is one of the dumbest narratives of all time.

8th December 2025 at 7:07 pm #232960Rob we were in for Guehi pretty much after we missed out on the two lads from Bournemouth. At first Palace were working hard to get Dimonde from Spoeting remember? Pretty early on the window. They wouldn’t sanction a sale until they had a replacement.
It fell through at the 11th hour because Glasner threatened to walk if he was sold. For us to do more, or to have someone else lined up with minutes left even when 99.9% of the transfer was done, is very naive.
